Jumpin Jim's Ukulele Masters: Herb Ohta

Herb does a great job playing the Ukulele. However, I found he moves through his music fast and some of the chords are hard to form the finger pattern on the fret board. I will have to break his music down and slow it down to be able to try an master his techniques. This may take several months or even years to complete. I like the fact that he has 26 songs with the chords, notes and words. His first song, DInah, has simple enough chords, but I have to learn the strumming technique to make it soung any good at all. I will listen to his CD over and over again to try and get it down.

this book is like a vocal edition book. it is not finger soloing arrangements that i was expecting. the versions are cut like what u would find in a "fake" book. to me, it's a waste of money. i have a free uke solo arrangement that i got off of youtube that herb ohta arranged full of orchestra chords for the single player. wish i could send it back

Sophisticated changes.

If you think you're getting in this book arrangements that sound like Ohta-san's videos, you will be disappointed. Each piece comprises nothing but the melody line and chord symbols. The beauty of Ohta-san's renditions is the timing he achieves between chordal rhythm and melody. This is missing in these written arrangements.

I love adding to my ukulele library. This book will be a permanent addition and I won't be lending it out.

I should have read other reviewer's postings more careful before buying it. Each song just has simple melody line with chord diagrams on top. It does not have tab nor show how to play. The front cover says "26 songs beautifully arranged by the ukulele master". You pretty much need to arrange yourself. 10 songs in the book are not even included on CD. The book is not cheap. Very disappointed.

I love this book. The chords are simple yet lush and perfect for the pieces. You can sound great strumming the chords and singing, or pick and strum instrumentally. The CD is there to help you with some of the tunes with which you may be less familiar. Nice assortment of tunes.

Nicely presented. Book content did not measure up to promised blurb. These arrangements consisted of chords and simple melody line. The promised Otah San tailored arrangements are totally dependent on players ability to synthesise cd and book. I expected a higher detailed product from Beloff.

Ich habe das Heft wieder zurückgeschickt,ich hatte gedacht es handelt sich um "solo" ukulele songs, im Stil der Lyle Ritz Hefte.Leider sind das nur Melodiestimmen mit Akkordangaben und dafür muss man denke ich nicht 20 € ausgeben. Entweder ich hab das in der Produktbeschreibung überlesen oder es steht nicht drin.

オータサンには珍しく、全曲Hi-Gでアレンジされている。比較的ローポジションが多く、難易度は低い。ただし、TAB譜はなく、メロディー譜とコードダイヤグラムが書かれているだけ。CDから、フェイクされたメロディーとシンコペートしたリズムをききとらなければならない。正直、オータサンの曲を何曲か引けいる人でないとどうやって弾いたらいいのかわからないかもしれない。先に市販のオータサンのフルコピーのタブ譜や教則DVDから入ったほうがいいだろう。また、テキストには、CDの模範演奏がついていない曲も多数ある。イマジネーションをはたらかせて、自分のアレンジで弾きなさいということか・・・いかにもオータサンらしい。人によって意見は分かれるであろうが、わたしは非常に気に入っている。
