Great product! Built very well
Great product! Built very well. Our squirrels used a screech owl house for years until it finally broke this year. We hung this high in the trees a few days ago and are waiting for the new inhabitants. Thank you for a high quality house for our squirrels!

Cedar is poisonous to squirrels!
This is a very well made squirrel house. Very functional for a squirrel family. We found two separate family's of squirrel baby's this spring. We wanted to mount the house up in our trees so they might stay close. We raised them bottle fed for weeks, months. As soon as they were introduced to the cedar squirrel house, they immediately started chewing the roof. A couple of days later I found out from a liscenced squirrel rehabilator, that cedar is very toxic, poisonous to squirrels. It shuts down their respiratory systems and shuts down their kidneys. Someone please tell me why squirrel houses would be made out of cedar? I'm pretty sure this review won't be used, so for makers using cedar because it sounds good to the consumer should have their respiratory systems shut down. Serves you right.

Perfect!
After contacting the manufacturer about the previous review of the product, I received the following: STOVALL_PRODUCTSJul 8 (1 day ago)to martin.smith, meIn reference to your comment on Squirrels having trouble with cedar, one account of a squirrel rehabilator cannot be accurate. Squirrels chew on cedar bird feeders every day. After 25 years of supplying many thousands of feeders and houses, this is the first occasion of our having been accused of poisoning squirrels with cedar. Think about it.
