Puts a serious edge on a Mac knife in just a few strokes.

I quite like the length on this ceramic steel and use it very frequently at work. The price is very nice for a 1200 grit ceramic. I've known people to have and use these for awhile and have just recently bought my own. If you wash it properly and keep it somewhere safe it should last quite a long time. It is a ceramic so it WILL shatter if dropped so just be careful where you set it. Mine usually stays in my kit unless needed. I'll probably be trying out the newer 2000 grit black ceramic steel sometime in the next year as I've heard great things about it too.

It helps to sharpen my Mac knives very well. But the workmanship on the rod is not as good as it supposes to be. There are some particles like sand on the surface of rod, makes the rod not smooth (pls see the tiny black spot on the rod in the picture). I am kind of worry the edges of my Mac santoku knife and Mac fillet knife will be damaged by the particles. I don't use it for my Mac Cleaver knife coz the knife is single-bevel. I feel it is difficult to sharpen it well, use oil stone to sharpen.
