concise and easy to follow
I think the Pass the Mortgage Loan Originator Test: A Study Guide for the NMLS SAFE Exam got me through the SAFE test. I had taken the 20 hour prep course and gone through the 440 pages of accompanying text. I still did not feel ready. Full panic set in when I realized the pass rate for the SAFE test on the first attempt is currently hovering around 58% and drops for each succeeding attempt. Taking a breath, and searching online I found this guide. It boils the SAFE prep course down to about 100 pages plus practice exams. Please understand, this is NOT a substitute for the 20-hour SAFE prep course, but it is a "Study Guide" and I am convinced it got me through the SAFE test with a passing grade of 80 on my first try. I have no background in finance or lending, so if I can do it, you can too! I passed in March, 2019 and am now working as a Mortgage Loan Consultant. Thank You!!

Good Stuff for MLO test.
I want to suggest/recommend this book. I have just passed. The 20-hour materials you will be given when you do the mandatory 20hours CE is just too much. But this book really did a good job and is not too much to read, only 110pages of material and the rest are the three practice exams and the glossary. It is a money well worth it to pass you exam. The only thing I wish the author should do, in my opinion, is reduced the three tests (of 60,60, & 65 questions) into two exam standard of 125 questions each. All in all, I will still rate this 5 stars.Lastly, because I have a long commute to and from work, I combine it with an audio "The National NMLS SAFE Act Prep Guide for Mortgage Loan Originators" By Ali Siavash narrated by River Kanoff. I got this on Amazon Kindle, downloaded the Kindle app into my phone and just listen when I can. No regret from me on both items.Good luck.

This is a no nonsense study tool
This is a study guide rather than a textbook, which makes it great for people who are already taking their exam prep seriously and aren’t being passive about it. The material sticks closely to the content outline of topics for the national exam and doesn’t distract you with fluff or background info. Upon taking each of the included practice exams, I found it helpful to note which questions I got wrong and to re-read the relevant chapters of the book again. Although you definitely won’t see the same questions on the real exam, the book is good at reinforcing the essential concepts. The pacing might be a bit too quick for people who aren’t comfortable with mortgage basics and haven’t yet taken a pre-license course. But if you’re looking for a good supplement for exam prep after taking your required classes, it’s a worthy choice.

This is good information
The test is not easy. I try to do online only for all the question and flash card. But there are more than just definition. You have to know all the concert in order to pass the test. I would suggest studies this book for getting clear ideal first but needs used some others material too. Good luck.

Great help for passing the test
If you're taking an online 20 hour course there is sometimes a waiting period to take the test. Mine was almost a month to get a test time. This book was great. Along with my notes from the course and this book i passed the first time. There are practice tests in the back that I printed and took over and over. Could not have passed without this book.

Test Prep for NMLS
Thus far from reading and studying the material; it is current with ethics and laws that are over 1/3 part of the test. The reading is easy to understand and correlates with other references that you will need to have a much better understanding for test prep.

This study guide is great! Like other reviewer said it is concise
This study guide is great! Like other reviewer said it is concise, but at the same time covers everything. It follows NMLS content outline therefore you will learn everything you need to know without all the unnecessary and confusing stuff. This book was pretty much all I studied and scored 89%. If you spend time and read it couple times for a better understanding you will do great!
