Great math program.

Easy to follow instructions, colorful, I like the cycling pattern of the types of problems so it doesn't get boring doing the same thing for a whole page.

This is our 4th year using Horizons math and we still love it! This curriculum is both challenging and appropriately sequential. We’ve been very pleased!

If you have a child where math comes somewhat naturally, horizons gives a challenge and will push them beyond a typical math curriculum. I start my kids on 1st grade math in Kindergarten because kindergarten math books feel unnecessary.I would say 1st grade and 2nd grade were great. 3rd has been more of a struggle between my daughter and me, and I am evaluating whether to stick with horizons for her next year. For now, I am going through all the work before hand and crossing out half the problems in all the concepts she gets. If she is still struggling with a concept, I have her do all the problems - I work a couple of the problems with her each time and then have her do the rest on her own. I have found that the amount of review equations are not necessary for my daughter to retain the concepts and by cutting down the problems she feels less discouraged.

I like Horizon Math books and have enjoyed using them with my kids. They introduce a lot of varied concepts and seem a little advanced but not annoyingly so. I use them from Kindergarten through 3rd grade and think that they are good. I admit that I don't use the Teacher's Guides for much more than corrections. But they have a lot of ideas for those who need them.

Love the Horizons sets. Not too much to do at a time. But my kids learn so much from it.

I love Horizon math I have been using it for many years!!! My kids learn so much and it teaches them where they understand it.
