I purchased 3 of these units, after installation they would drop connection for no apparent reason. I contacted the support team; they guided me through steps to diagnose the problem. my problem was a new ethernet switch, I put an old switch in, and the Shelly products are working perfect. this is a great product and an outstanding support team. They are easy to install and work great in my home automation setup. I would highly recommend these; I will purchase more of the units.

This wifi relay by far is the most awesome device I've come across for smart home automation. The Shelly gen3 1 Mini is extremely small and packs a serious punch. I bought this relay for a friend who tasked me with finding a way to control their rolling shutter system from their phone. This little device took me 10 minutes to install and then 5 minutes to configure. During the configuring time, I was also able to update the firmware. This thing just works! It's not complicated and for $11, I was able to meet my friend's request. These are perfect for dry contact setups like shutter systems and garage door openers. I highly recommend! This little Shelly 1 Mini was exactly what I needed to smart-ify my kitchen light! Installation was a bit tricky with my neutral wire being at the ceiling fixture, but after consulting some wiring diagrams online, I got it working perfectly. The real gem is its compatibility - I successfully flashed Tasmota firmware and integrated it with Home Assistant for full local control. The device is tiny but mighty, handling my kitchen light with no issues. For anyone into home automation who knows their way around basic wiring, this is a fantastic option to convert "dumb" switches into smart ones. Just make sure you're comfortable with electrical work or consult a professional. Bonus points for not requiring any proprietary hub and working with multiple platforms. Had it installed in a few minutes. The set up was mostly easy, some unclear instructions in the app. Got it figured out and it has smart watch (galaxy 8) controls, very handy. It's tiny, make sure to have a small Philips screwdriver. I used 16awg for the power and it fit in the terminals just fine. I only use the remote trigger, works great very responsive. I can't speak to the switch trigger, other than to say it has one. Was super easy to connect to the app. It was easy to link with Google home. Alexa not so much. I got into a loop of pressing the enable button in the alexa app and the shelly app opening. The Shelly app has the same feature but in reverse telling the Shelly app to link with alexa, that also got me into a similar loop. I finally got it to link by finding the Shelly Cloud skill on the Amazon website on my computer, then it called up the Shelly site to login. But yeah that was a bit frustrating. After it was linked everything worked well. I was able to easily setup routines for google and alexa. With this being a dry contract, the uses are wide and varied. This is my first Shelly product, but would not be surprised if I got more in the future.

I have a semi-unique setup involving two Nest Hello Doorbells: one hardwired at my front door and another standalone for my backyard, powered by a wall plug. The front doorbell is connected to my mechanical chime as per Google’s recommended wiring, so it rings the chime when pressed. However, my backyard doorbell only alerts me via app notifications or smart speakers—it doesn’t trigger the chime. To solve this, I integrated a Shelly 1 Mini Gen 3 with a Raspberry Pi running Homebridge. This configuration now enables my backyard doorbell to trigger the chime as well. Here’s a quick breakdown of what makes it work: 1. The Shelly 1 Mini Gen 3 doesn’t natively support Apple HomeKit (though it may someday), so I use a Homebridge plugin to enable communication with HomeKit. 2. Nest Hello doorbells also lack native Apple HomeKit support. Using the same Homebridge setup (or alternatively a Starling Home Hub), I’ve bridged Nest Hello to work within HomeKit. Through HomeKit Automations, I set up a “button press” event for the backyard doorbell that triggers the Shelly, which is programmed to pulse on and off for 0.5 seconds, activating the mechanical chime. I'm also thrilled that if I switch to a different doorbell system in the future, this configuration should adapt easily, allowing the same chime functionality without needing major adjustments.

... but I got so much more. Frustrated with the normal light timers limited timing features, I turned to one of these Shelly Mini G3 smart switches. It works great and has the timing feature of an individual offset from dawn that was missing from the non-smart timer switches. The manual is bit overwhelming, and it was missing the specific "wiring plan" I needed. Searching the web I didn't easily find the answer. A deep dive into a manual for one of their other products and I found the answer. The wiring I needed was two momentary switches connected directly to the device. While it describes one, it's not clear on how to add more. It's pretty simple, put them in parallel. But this should have been easier to find. I wasn't interested in cloud support and was a little worried I would be required to use it. Again, a detail that is hard to get clarity from any manuals. It's not required or needed for local access only. Once installed, I used the AP feature (Wi-Fi directly to the device, open a web browser). This allowed me to finish the setup and configure the timers all I wanted. It's nice its exposed Web UI did everything I wanted. I continued and joined it my house Wi-Fi and have it automatically set time from the google time services. Then I could access its exposed web interface with directly connecting to the device, just my Wi-Fi; and had it automatically updated its firmware. It did come with firmware that was a version behind. Not really a requirement, but I checked out their Shelly app on my Android phone. It worked great. There are a lot of bad reviews that were recent, so I was worried. I think the complexity of rooms and how to add devices was throwing these people off, but the model clicked with me, and I thought it was very functional and stabile. So, I then ordered three smart outlets to add to the mix; and I am happy. Makes remote control and management of timers all in one UI rather than each units Web UI. There are many other features I haven't even delved into yet, like actions. If the App quits being supported, I can always go back to the fully functional Web UI on each unit.

So far i installed one in my garage to open the door due to lost remote and it’s a brand no one recognizes so getting a remote required purchasing other components that made it difficult however with this device i have so many options it can open with proximity using location of my vehicle or phone or with certain conditions or thru HomeKit … so many options it’s worked every time.

Der Größenunterschied ist in der Praxis genial!Während man bei den klobigen, weißen Standard-Modulen in einer flachen Schalterdose kaum noch die Kabel unterbringt, verschwindet der blaue Shelly Mini absolut mühelos in der Wand. Für alle, die alte, flache Dosen haben und sich beim Einbau Frust ersparen wollen, ist die Mini-Serie die perfekte Wahl. I'm torn between 1 and 5 stars. Yup, it says 2 in the box, and I only got 1 - but then Amazon gave me a full refund without having to return the item. Pretty good value! Think I'll get another...
