Don't like the feel but it's not bad
I have a few spots of eczema left and usually use calendula cream to treat it, this has it listed as an ingredient so I thought I'd try it. Being a balm it's more oily than my cream meaning I don't think it actually moisturises my skin as well, meaning it doesn't feel great and the skin still cracks. It doesn't irritate my skin and does seem to have some of the calendula healing properties but it's not as good.

Worked really well on my dry ichy elbow skin.
Herbfarmacy Organic Skin Rescue Balm The product. This is an all-natural skin cream made under controlled conditions and not tested on animals. Application. This is a topical cream that is rubbed onto the skin on and around the damaged areas. Effectiveness. I have really dry and flaky skin around my elbows and it often irritates me and bleeds. I used this cream sparingly every night for a week and it cleared right up. The affected area is now soft, supple and so no signs of dryness. This has been the only thing that has every worked. Overall. This is really good stuff and worked where everything else had failed for me. It’s worth a try if you are not getting anywhere with other creams and medications. I am very happy with it and the results it has achieved.

I only have one problem with it
I'm not mad on the smell but that hasn't put me off using it. It helped a small rash on my arm within two applications of it and that makes it good in my opinion. The smell isn't bad enough to make me not use something that works that well on my very dry hyper sensitive skin so I will continue to use it and ignore the whiff, lol. It has a nice texture, not greasy or anything unpleasant. It's a cream that you'ld think would be greasy on the skin when you first touch it but I didn't find it to be on putting it on my skin. There is enough in the pot to last quite a while although the pot isn't big. I'd buy more of it when this pot has been used up. If something works and doesn't irritate my skin I keep a note of the name and look out for it whenever I need more of this type of cream. It's really good.

Strange smell puts me off a little.
This tiny jar of skin rescue balm come nicely packaged in a small box, upon opening the jar the first thing I noticed was the smell of this balm, a strange herby smell which I likened to a cold remedy type smell. I applied a small amount to my hands which are always dry being a joiner, firstly the balm felt a little greasy and was slow to absorb but once it did my hand still felt dry. The plus side of this balm is it has totally natural ingredients, no funny chemicals here. I'm not keen on this balm but will use it from time to time.

Comforting, soothing rescue balm
Herbfarmacy Organic Skin Rescue Balm is a soothing and comforting skin balm, suitable for sensitive skin, especially as it is SLS and parabens free. The little glass pot is package in a card box, with no plastic wrapping. The lid is metal. Upon opening the gentle scent is comforting smelling primarily of lavender. The scent is not overpowering. Everything about this balm is understated, and quality. Used as a face-balm it is a gentle soothing cream for problem skin. Made with organic ingredients, only tested on friends, this is a pricey, but great value rescue balm. Really impressive.

Smells lovely!
I have eczema on my hands that can cause the skin to split in the cold weather and can get very sore. I was going to wait to try the balm when the weather got really cold, but it is freakishly warm still. So, I have preempted to split skin and I have been treating any problem patches that come up in the hopes that the skin won't split. The base of my thumbs at the back of my hands and the creases on my fingers are particular problem areas. The balm is very thick, much denser than even a petroleum jelly and I found I had to scrape the balm out with my nail and as it warmed up in my hands it was easier to work in to my skin. My hands then felt quite greasy for a while after and I wished I had one it before bed. I went back to reading my book and was worried about the greasy film transferring to my pages, but the balm stayed on my skin. After just one application my hands felt softer and I do think this may be the answer to splitting skin as it feels much more supple and less tight over my knuckles. Not one I would use all the time as it doesn't absorb instantly, but definitely a great treat for my hands.

Very easy to apply with a pleasant aroma
I am an amazon vine reviewer. I have dry skin on my head and hands, so I thought that I would try the “herbfarmacy” skin rescue balm. It contains calendula; comfrey and chickweed to “restore irritated skin – which is what I have, so I thought that it my help my skin. It comes in a 30 ml glass jar with a screwed aluminium lid. The balm is greeny yellow in colour and has a pleasant kind of lemony aroma. The box has a long list of ingredients, which include: sunflower; jojoba; rosemary leaf extract; and many other components. The font size of the ingredients is quite small so a magnifying glass may help to read everything! I used the balm before going to bed On the first day I applied too much balm to start with, which left my skin feeling too greasy. On the second night I reduced the amount of balm that I applied and that was a lot better. A little goes a long way. It does not leave any marks on my pillow or bed linen. I have been using it for a few days. I can say that I am not scratching my forehead and ears etc., as much so the balm is certainly not having a detrimental affect on my skin. The remainder of the balm on my hands after I have applied it to my forehead etc. is not wasted as I rub it into my hands as a hand cream. I don’t know if I was expecting a vast improvement, but I do know that the 30 ml jar will last for a long time. I am now into day 4. I have not noticed that my skin is more or less irritated compared to before, but the balm is pleasant to use. As stated at the top of this review, the herbfarmacy balm is meant, “to restore irritated skin”. I can’t say exactly what “restore” means. I decided to go to the herbfarmacy home page. The botanist Dr Paul Richards runs the company via a farm in Herefordshire. The company use their herbs to make formulations such as the balm I am reviewing. I found that calendula is from marigolds and that chickweed (“star weed”) is a key herb for treating eczema. Also that the herbfarmacy ethos is to, “nourish, protect and heal sensitive skin”. I may need to revisit this review after another week or two to ascertain if there has been any significant improvement in my skin’s condition. At the moment I can assess the herbfarmacy skin rescue balm at 4 stars. This does not mean that it does not deserve 5 stars; I may need to give it more time to have a full benefit for me. It is easy to use, smells nice and is easily absorbed onto my skin. At a 4 star rating it is certainly worth considering.

Lovely small, soothes dry skin
Firstly, I thought, 'what a small pot' however the tiniest amount is required. Smooth over dry patches and/or irritated skin and it feels eased immediately. Dry skin looks better and it lasts on the skin for a long time. The ingredients include a lot of traditional remedies that have been in use for hundreds of years with reputed success such as calendula, lavender, beeswax and camomile. Even the smell is pleasant and relaxing. I will be using this for a long time. It works!
