Great for a branding iron!
I use this to hold my 150 watt electric branding iron. The iron gets hot purple, but never discolors the stand. I've had it on there for over an hour with no issue. The curved portion of the stand gets hot, but the legs never get more than a little warm.My only gripe with this stand is that it's shipped in 3 pieces, but once assembled, the legs are just loosely fit into the cradle. The back legs fell out during my first use with a hot iron. I ended up using some channel lock pliers to crimp the sheet metal tight around the legs since I don't have any need to remove the legs.

Legs are ridiculous
Echoing another reviewer's sentiment, before buying this, know that the legs are ridiculous. They're separate pieces, and they fall out very easily to the point of being very frustrating. The product is near useless unless you have something to bend the metal around where the legs fit in so that they fit snugly.
