Dahmer

Im torn with this album.In places its brilliant, genius even. But then sometimes its just annoying.No mistaking they are awesome musicians, but sometimes its just a bit too immature to take seriously. I know this album isnt a "serious" death metal album, but still.It basically tells the story of Jeffery Dahmer in a lighthearted death metal style. Some lyrics will make you laugh out loud, others wince.Their use of well known songs adapted to their own unique style are the higlights of this album. The best being Jeffery Dhamer and the Chocolate Factory. This song takes the tune of the famous Oompa Loompa song from the Willy Wonka film and adds its own serial killer twist.This is an album I like, but get bored with easily. I rarely listen to the whole thing through, just pick out songs when the mood takes me.Worth a buy, but might be sat on the shelf a long time.

If indeed Macabre's patented "murder-metal" music could indeed qualify as death metal, I'd have to say that "Dahmer" is my favorite death metal CD of ALL time! First of all, the macabre dudes are AWESOME musicians, and secondly, they use their talents to create the most sick and twisted but at the same time hilarious music known to man! ..And on "Dahmer" they also for the first time have the production-skills to back them up, seeing that "Mr. Perfect" Neil Kernon produced the CD using HDCD technology. In my opinion "Dahmer" is also the best produced death metal CD to date!!! Another thing that makes "Dahmer" Macabre's best CD to date is the variation of the tracks... Each track offers something new musically, and you are never once bored even though the CD contain 26 tracks!! The only constant is the lyrical theme of the life, crime and ultimate death of Serial Killer weirdo Jeffery Dahmer!! How's THAT for a concept?!?...
