Works good and solid: Updated 10/31/18
Assembles easy, stable and does the job. Can't ask for moreBtw I have over 30 spools of 1kg filament all freely turn. Brands include, Hatchbox, 3DXTECH, Inland, SainSmart, etc various others. All work fine, including the spools with a large 3" diameter hole for the holder.

Don’t waste your money on this item
The screws/bolts that you need to assemble this product were not included in the package. Disappointed in the quality of this. I can’t use it because I cannot put it together, and the parts I need to assemble this aren’t a typical size nut and bolt that I could just replace with spare parts from my tool kit. The hole for them to go in is incredibly small and the hole for the nut to go in to secure the bolt is even smaller. I didn’t know they made nuts & bolts that small, the parts I need to assemble this must be specially sized for just this product. Very unhappy with this purchase, even as cheap as it was, not worth the money. Definitely doesn’t look anything like the first picture of the product on here. Very much a scam

Works great
First of all assembling was very interesting: I'll definitely use this method for my future 3d prints. When it arrived it seemed very small and I was very skeptical it could fit my 1kg filament (hatchbox) but it fitted it very well and there is even a bit of space left. This holder works very well and filament is fed very smooth with exact amount of tension.

Good, but
Lost one star because the feet are not sticky and it slides around. So since I have it sitting up on a shelf above the printer, I'm worried that I will fall off because it slides. I will put some rubber down on the surface or something like that

Break easily.
The side walls are frame break easily if bumped. Probably will shatter if dropped. Need to make with stronger material. Patterns for making them are available online.

Frustrating
First off, this is made from black acrylic plastic, not metal. Also, it comes as a kit, not complete. In my opinion, it should say KIT in big bold letters. Or <SOME ASSEMBLY AND PATIENCE REQUIRED.>No instructions are really required for the mechanically inclined, but a simple note with clues as to how to remove the impossible paper liner would have been appreciated. In English. Or in Ikea-ish.It is very light but there are a few frustrations in assembly. First off is the nice and sturdy 3M branded liner on the acrylic. Peeling this off took me an hour, including breaking two fingernails and soaking in hot water for 20 minutes. Products should never injure the purchaser. All praise to 3M for making a paper that can never be peeled off in one go. After rinsing in hot soapy water for an hour the paper becomes only slightly more removable. I did not soak it overnight, but this might work.Next up, the bolts are metric. This is America. I don't have metric hex wrenches. None are included. So, off to the tool store. Then, missing hardware. One nut, absolutely required, was missing. Off to the hardware stoe. Tells you something about a product when the packers can't count to 4. Sigh. The basic concept of this product is sound, but the execution is a little lacking. Yes, it works but if I had paid a dollar more would I have got one with guides or bearings? Yep.The central roller is as thin as thin can be, with no guides and plastic caps pushed in the ends. Since I am using this roller for unattended printing, I am worried about how a long print might dislodge the roller. Other than that, it is what I have come to expect from anything marked "Made in China". My advice, opt for a better one. This works, but will see for how long. If my time is worth anything, I would have gotten a better one.

I put one together yesterday. These should last awhile. Thank you.
