I have a broken shoulder and can’t move it to get dressed. I had a bit of a panic when the time on my doctor’s note ran out and I had to go back to work. Ah, thank you Amazon, because I was in too much pain to shop. These tops are amazing!I purchased one pink and one burgundy. I am a plus size, tall woman and normally wear a 1X, but decided I wanted these to be large, comfy and easy to put on, so I ordered them as 3X.The Velcro on the ladies tops are covered in lace and run along the shoulder and down the arm, offset towards the front. The burgundy top arrived first and I was so happy, I ordered the others (including the men’s shirts). Although the same size on the label, the pink is smaller.The tops open up like a skirt and when the Velcro is closed the sleeves appear. Each top has a ribbon to pull up the back part of the sleeve to close the Velcro. I ended up cutting off the ribbons, because my husband helps me put on the tops and we had a bit of a problem with the ribbons hanging out of the sleeves of the shirts.Now that I’m in occupational therapy, the tops are easy for the therapist to open the sleeve when I get my massage. I also ordered from the men’s one navy blue and one gray. Surprisingly, the men’s shirts are my favorite – very soft. (I have four total of these tops and also a review on the men’s shirts.)

I found this shirt to be a bit stiff and uncomfortable compared to another style that I had ordered. The sleeve part also felt a bit long. I wanted the sleeve to be tshirt length. Instead, it fell at my elbow. Having just had surgery, it was irritating that it fell that low. The shirt is fantastic quality though and very thick. That is helpful for us women who have surgery, followed by physical therapy and can't wear a bra for 2 weeks. I ended up returning mine due to sleeve length.

When recovering from shoulder surgery, this shirt is a must! The fabric is so very soft and t's a comfortable shirt to wear. While it wasn't a problem for me because my husband helped me with the velcro on the shoulder, I could see it being difficult to try and attach it on your own. The velcro needs to line up perfectly, if not, the edges are a bit stiff and it's scratchy. It's easier if there is a zipper closure at the shoulder when you are self dressing.I waited until after the surgery to order this shirt and that was a hug mistake. I needed to have this shirt to be able to go home from the hospital. What was real nice is the company that makes this t-shirt is a small family owned business and they must know how much you'll need this type of clothing so it arrives via priority mail with a nice handwritten note from the owner ... a very nice touch.

I really liked this top for post operative shoulder surgery. This top would work well for breast surgery too. Probably a good option for port access as well. I wore this the day of surgery and getting dressed and undressed went well. The pink color is very soft and ran a little larger than I expected. I ordered an XL. The fit was very roomy, enough to accommodate the bulky shoulder dressings. I usually wear a large or XL. Washed well, no shrinkage. Knit is heavy enough that I did not wear a bra after surgery. However, the burgundy color ran at least 2 inches smaller and the material felt a little heavier. Order one size up. Definitely worth the cost.

I purchased this because I has a chemo port put in that I knew they would have to access for treatment. It worked perfectly, and the nurse commented on how helpful it was for her. It's not super soft, but it was comfortable enough to wear all day, and the velcro didn't bother me at all.

Comfortable fabric, easy care and serves the intended purpose following shoulder replacement surgery. Easy to put on and take off. Not a thing wrong with it -- it's just not a style I would normally wear. I could do without the lace trim at the shoulders, but that is a style preference.

Velcro too stiff itches when not perfectly aligned. Did not warn about abduction immobilizer. Won’t work.
