I read the reviews and they really liked to chocolate flavor. Well, I didn't.

For me, this drink was what methadone is to heroin, except it got me off COFFEE. I was addicted to coffee and couldn't get off it. Not because of the caffeine, but because coffee was like a ritual every morning for me and was more emotional than anything else, AND it was driving up my blood pressure! Switching to this drink gave me the emotional feeling as if I were drinking coffee, but without the caffeine! and now my blood pressure is closer to normal again, WITHOUT medication! It also seems to have a good detox effect too, which is also a good thing. I do mix some Chobani hazelnut or vanilla creamer into it as well, which makes it take even better!

For years I have been looking for a gratifying coffee substitute. My search finally brought me to this product, and I will be happy to stick with it from here on in. The taste is somewhat coffee-like with slight cocoa overtones, able to stand up to sugar and creamer. My Google searches about the ingredients (all organic) found indications that carob aids digestion and helps manage cholesterol; barley boosts the immune system; maca is said to boost mood and energy; chicory may reduce heart disease; ramon seeds have antioxidants and calcium; cocoa is rich in polyphenols, and chili has cardiovascular benefits. No gluten.

For medical reasons I've had to give up coffee. Teas are OK, but generally don't cut it when you feel like a cuppa' Joe. I like the Teechino products for getting the closest I can to a cup of coffee in a tea product. The Maca Chocolate Organic Hickory Roasted Herbal Tea is a my favorite Teechino flavor! The maca adds a nice choclatey taste on top of the coffee-ish flavor. Teechino tea bags contain a lot of tea, so you brew a robust cup with each one. And you can doctor them up with creamers or whipped cream if you wish...but I like me Teechino "black".
