Tre Spade il Macinino Conical burr coffee grinder

Works much better than I expected ... the reviews that I read had a negative feel. It works very fast and produces a precision grind. I couldn't be happier with it.

The packaging from the manufacturer was inadequate to protect the product and it arrived broken. When returned, Amazon had no others in stock for replacement. So, we ordered a Virtuoso by Baratza -- it is FAR superior to the La Pavoni because it has all the same features but is sturdy yet sleek in design, quiet when operating, and has virtually NO coffee dust when grinding. We are thrilled the La Pavoni was broken and we were forced to look elsewhere. Save yourself problems and mess, get the Virtuoso.

Our previous burr grinder passed away in 2009, so I searched for a replacement. Unfortunately, that brand had moved manufacturing from Switzerland to Taiwan, so a change was in order. I searched Amazon for one that looked good, seemed to have good features and had a good chance of being reliable. The La Pavoni made the short list and was ultimately purchased from Amazon. The decision was made primarily on the feature description plus the assumption that Italians must know coffee grinders.After two plus years of use, the positives and negatives of this product are pretty clear.Positives: looks good, grinds coffee reasonably well, no failures.Negatives: sounds like a rock crusher, they give you a cleaning brush for a reason (it needs to be cleaned frequently), the beans don't feed reliablyIn all honesty, it is possible the poor feed and the frequent cleanings are a result of the oily beans we use, but I would expect Italian beans to share those characteristics.Bottom line: I expected more from a product that cost over $200. I would certainly buy a different brand the next time.

This review is for the customer service of Unbeatable Sales, and not the product. This product worked great for 2 months, then the plastic lip that dispenses the coffee broke off. I have an identical machine that has lasted years and had to replace burrs before anything else. I called Unbeatable Sales 5 times, and they refused to replace the machine, but would send a "replacement piece." Now, I have to take this machine apart to repair the machine that I have had for less than two months. Horrible customer service. Not happy at all.

This rating applies to my overall experience - and not the product. I ordered this once, and the top hopper (plastic) was broken. I shipped it back and waited for my new grinder. The second time around the product was broken still worse. The packaging that my coffee grinders were shipped in was obviously inadequate to protect the product. Something here went very wrong.Unfortunately I cannot speak to how well this grinder performs its job.

I think it is unfortunate that the previous reviewer is rating this product with 1 star without actually using it. It is an Italian made grinder that is not only attractive but grinds a perfect grind for my LaPavoni PC-8. You can grind in to your doser or for larger amounts of coffee grind diectly in to the removable hoppper. It's quiet, too. Looks awesome on my countertop.
