So many options and just works
The options to power and use this module are so endless, it's well worth it. You could definitely put something together with ESPHome that would cost half the price, and that's what I almost did, but do you really want to spend hours tinkering rather than pay the extra $10 for a well-finished reliable solution that just works? In my particular case, I was trying to control an internal component of a hot tub that used 15 volts DC (what an awkward voltage), and using this module allowed me to power it directly from the same wires I was controlling, without the need for an external power supply. Super convenient. I also like that it has pretty much every integration under the sun, so I know that while I may want to control it directly with an app today, it will be able to connect to my Home Assistant instance in the future if I want more control.

Was very fun to experiment with but the price is getting too high
Easy to connect to via BT or WiFi. BT requires the Shelly app, WiFi only needs your browser. These are very low power/performance so they take a bit to get online, that is to be expected, it performs as promised. The Rpi Pico is $7 cheaper. The difference is the Rpi requires you o be interested in having an understanding of programming rather than the Uni needing the ability to work through some confined scripting. If the Uni offered a deal on buying a few together I would have done that, guess they like their single item profit level more than they care for increased sales.

Useful as a rotor control for remote HF antenna sites.
My 3rd review: I am using the Uni to remote control a Yaesu G-800DXA rotor for an HF antenna. I’m happy to report that it is functioning reliably now performing this task. The first thing to do is update the firmware. The SS relays on the Uni drive the CW and CCW rotor controls and LED indicators that I added (PU to 5V via 1k) without issue. The 0V to 4.5V directional indicator voltage from the rotor go to the analog input of the Uni which I set for the 0-15V range. You have to enable this input. It comes with a counter enabled which I did not use and disabled. I calibrated this to give 0 to 100% for that voltage range and used the equation x*4.5 to get degrees. Set the threshold to 1 for best accuracy. The app breaks the CW and CCW momentary controls into two PBs. These work okay but there is no way to disallow both on at once. There is no combinational logic available (unless you experiment with some JS). I made the degrees reading appear as a separate device. Unfortunately, useful documentation is sorely lacking and menus are not very intuitive so, if you’re not familiar with the app, you have to waste a lot of time trying to figure out what’s where in addition to what’s possible. Overall, it works and it works remotely via the Internet, it’s the only off the shelf solution that I had found that met all of the requirements for this, and it’s quite inexpensive compared with more industrial solutions.

Great gadget.
It's like the Raspberry Pi of automation. The device is inexpensive and has a lot of features. The online information is scattered throughout the world so you may have to get up to speed a bit on them. For the simple task I needed this was great. I monitor battery in garage via wifi. The signal just sneaks out. I used a paint stirring stick to mount to.

Versatility and ease of setup.
Extremely pleased with Plus UNI devices I purchased. Using to remotely control (both automatically and manually) load transfer power relays between house mains and solar powered inverters; and monitor battery bank voltage. Was pleased that once router password was entered for the first device, others came online without having to reenter it.

Great for detecting power state changes for HASS triggering.
Using two USB A power adapters and an e26 to 120 female plug adapter, I set this up to watch the power status of the garage door opener light to switch other outdoor lights on when activated. Wiring follows: Red/White: +5VDC from opener adapter. Black: -5VDC from opener adapter. Grey: +5VDC always on adapter. Green: -5VDC always on adapter. All others trimmed and taped off. The White analog wire connected to the Red wire allowed me to use the Voltmeter functionality to set up a trigger in Home Assistant when voltage was detected at the garage door light socket. I now have extra lighting when I come home in the dark and the other lights are also set to turn off and mirror the status of the garage. TP-Link, while their products are my go-to for price point and functionality, they don't report power status reliably. While this module has many features, the ones mentioned in this review made it extremely useful for getting a quick report in power status change, yielding useful light triggering. I didn't go through the trouble of adding a bleed resistor to the opener power adapter because I found a usb adapter that drained quickly after power off. There was some experimentation involved and I was lucky to have a generic usb adapter that met my needs. This functionality depends on how quickly any leftover charge is left in the adapter, so your results and implementation will vary from mine.

Great hardware buried under a not so great setup experience
I bought a Shelly Plus UNI for one incredibly simple purpose: remotely monitor the voltage of my RV’s 12V battery bank. After finally getting it configured, I can say the hardware does work. It’s currently reporting 13.5V accurately over Wi-Fi. Getting to that point, however, was ridiculous. The automatic device-add process repeatedly failed. I eventually had to connect directly to the Shelly’s access point, configure it manually through its local IP address, connect it to my Wi-Fi that way, and then fight with the Smart Control app to get the device added. Then it got even better: the app added the SAME physical device twice. I deleted the duplicate, and the app deleted BOTH entries. I added the device again, and—somehow—it created TWO entries again. So I now apparently own one Shelly Plus UNI and two copies of it in Shelly’s app. I’m reasonably comfortable with electronics and networking, and I eventually got everything working. But configuring a simple Wi-Fi voltage monitor should not require this much troubleshooting, manual network configuration, duplicate-device nonsense, and frustration. The hardware itself seems capable. The onboarding and app experience are awful.

Simple and straight-forward
Shelly does the job and does it efficiently, discretely, humbly and right. It does not force you to use someone's "cloud", does not force you to share your personal information, does not require you to know soldering or programming. I can solder, I can code but shelly turns out to be quicker and more reliable solution to nearly all my home automation projects.

Exelente módulo,pero recomiendo que antes de usarlo investiguen bien sus características técnicas porque suelen ser un poco complicadas

Ottima soluzione per comando senza carichi
Piccolo e funzionale. Usato per attivare 2 diversi comandi da remoto. Classica interfaccia shelly, connessione quasi istantanea e stabile, un sacco di opzioni. Integrazione ottima con Google Home Ovviamente richiede alimentatore, ma potenza assorbita irrisoria
