Bought this for my tiny dorm “tool kit” because my old beater car started losing compression on one cylinder. Borrowed a friends garage spot, pulled the head off between classes, and used this valve grinding compound with a cheap suction stick. It’s thick and gritty in a good way, so I could feel it cutting while i spun the valves. After a few rounds the seats looked way cleaner and more even. Clean up was easy with brake cleaner and rags. The tube is small but theres plenty for a couple engines. The part that really made me glad was hearing that engine fire up smoother on the first start.

This was my first time messing with valves on my old Corolla, and this tube made the whole thing way less intimidating. The grit feels consistent and doesn’t separate into weird layers, so I could just squeeze a tiny line onto the valve face and start lapping. I did the whole set at my tiny apartment parking spot with a folding table and some cheap tools. Took a while but the valves seated nicely and compression came back up. The cap actually seals tight so it hasn’t dried out between uses. I’ve already used it again on a friend’s beat-up Civic and it still works the same. For the price, i’m glad it’s a simple tube that just does what I need without random extras I’d never use. Ths fits easily in my small toolbox.

Worked well on my Subaru valves. There is enough in the tube to last me the rest of my life.
