All the Hits
These two albums (in one) show Linda Ronstadt to be a gifted and skilled interpretive singer. The songs vary from country such as 'Silver Threads And Golden Needles', to the folk- rock of the excellent 'Different Drum', rockers such as the Rolling Stones 'Tumbling Dice,' to sublime soul like smokey Robinson's 'Tracks Of My Tears and the pulsating rock n' roll of Chuck Berry's 'Back In The USA'.As far as my knowledge stretches to the original versions, all of the covers on this album at least compare to the original and some are even better.

Best 70's Female Singer by a Country Mile.
Good variety of tracks made up of 70's hits, but also some country standards. Had she been a writer she would have out-starred Dolly Parton, but the voice is still class.

Fantastic Compilation
Linda Ronstadt was one of the most successful female artists of the 70s with a long string of No1 and Top 10 hits on the Billboard Charts. Most of her hits were covers of 50s and 60s hits which never gained her much credibility with the "serious" rock press. Like many highly successful West Coast Rock acts of the era she failed to find the same levels of success in the UK, scoring only 1 solo chart placing with Blue Bayou which landed just outside the UK Top 40. Linda did manage to score 2 top 10 hits with duets that featured Aaron Neville- another US artists who failed to score any solo UK hits- and James Ingram. This collection is a superb value coupling of her Greatest Hits I & 2 discs. 23 tracks all bona fide hits. The sound quality isn't the best, I suppose a remaster was too much to ask.
