Welliver Outdoors WPBBH Standard Bluebird House,Brown

A pair of bluebirds was attempting to nest in our mailbox, which is for obvious reasons not a great candidate. I felt so bad that they were struggling to find a nesting area that I bought this and mounted it to a tree in our backyard. I made sure it was facing the same direction as the mailbox and the correct height. Low and behold, only a couple hours later the bluebird couple had found the birdhouse and started building a nest. So lovely to look outside and see them from the kitchen window.The product I received was good quality, made in the USA. You can open it by lifting the bottom of the top piece. A small metal piece can be rotated to keep it in place. When open there is a spot in the middle of the birdhouse for a screw, and there is another spot easily visible on the bottom portion of the birdhouse (so two screws to hold in place).

My Husband installed these after staining them a cedar color. Installed on rebar with a tube installed to back of box. This made re positioning easier as only one occupied at present and trying different locations to intice renting out the second

Mine is 100% pine. Okay for the price, but ad and pictures are misleading as it states "cedar". See my photos for differences. Mine has a latch for clean out. Thats a good thing. I would have preferred cedar as this will not last as long. Oveall a decent house with a few flaws.

Bought these to replace old bluebird houses that had been damaged over the years. Pleasantly surprised to see how well-made they are for such a reasonable price. Easy to install, as well.

Poorly constructed, gaps, gouges in wood.( I would include a picture but permissions for use of my camera by Amazon are not acceptable).

I made a longer awning for this and affixed some dried moss to it to hide the seam and it looks great. I also sealed the backside to increase longevity of the wood. I didn’t NEED to do any of that- I’m just a weirdo. And I made sure to re-affix the “made in USA” sticker LOL

This is so much fun. These birdhouses are perfect. They meet the Audubon Society standards for bluebird houses, they do have easy opening access for cleaning and they mount very easily on a pole. They are made of cedar and are of good construction.

Buyer beware...we purchased a six pack of these birdhouses because they claimed to be cedar and I believed we couldn’t build them as cheap as we could buy them. Five of six were made in China, one was made in the US. (See pic 1) The five Chinese houses were a bit slapdash; assembled with a stapler and falling apart. At least the dimensions are correct. The lone American house came in its own bag with the roof not assembled. I put them back together with brass screws (see pic 2) so I hope they’ll hold up for a few years.
