Eversmile New Jersey [DVD]

Rating-wise, I'd say it's a below zero stars.It's that bad really. On of the worst things I've ever seen, in every way. Strange, as on paper, both main actor and director are among the finest in cinema... but this one just didn't work out. Plot, pace, dialogues, the choice of doing it in English... everything about it is wrong, and at one point becomes quite repulsive.No wonder it took about 10 years to director Sorin to get over it and start again. My advice is don't even consider this one, and go straight to the later Sorin (eg. the brilliant El Perro & Historias Minimas)!

Unusual

I ordered this because I wanted to see everything Daniel Day-Lewis has acted in. It was not his best piece of work, but I did enjoy seeing him...and Patagonia.

This is one you either love, or find bewildering and awful. Personally, it is my favourite movie, along with the French Amelie. It is, unashamedly, magical realism, and is allegorical all the way. And the last ten minutes never fail to have me in floods of tears - not of sorrow, but of of sheer delight!
