Description

This personalized wedding and anniversary cutting board takes a nautical turn with its ocean inspired design and engraving. Choose between a pair of narwhals or seahorses, engraved in Maple, Cherry, Walnut, or Sapele wood, and have the couple’s names carved above an anchor that carries the words, “You are my anchor,” with the date underneath. These custom engraved cutting boards are made by us in Michigan. Four different woods are available: Maple - Hard maple is a light colored wood, that engraves to a medium or dark brown depending on the individual wood. Cherry - Freshly cut cherry is a lovely light red or pink color that engraves to a beautiful dark brown. The color of the wood darkens as it ages and is exposed to light. It will end up a dark red color in future years. Walnut - Walnut is a highly prized cabinet wood. The heartwood is a dark brown that can have purple undertones. It engraves to a dark brown almost black. The contrast between the engraving and the dark wood color is not as distinct as with maple or cherry, but is still a very nice looking board. Sapele - This is the only imported wood we use. Sapele is an African hardwood that is about as hard as hard maple, and looks a lot like mahogany. It is often called African mahogany. It engraves to a nice dark color that looks good against the copper browns of the wood. Your board will be finished with a coat of food safe mineral oil, and securely wrapped and packed to arrive safely. Apply more mineral oil when the board looks dry, The engraving is on one side only, which is meant for display. The reverse side can be used for cutting.
