A lovely brew
We have tried many kinds of coffee and this is probably one of the best.A medium roast, with a smooth taste. I noted that it is freshly roasted, on opening the bag the aroma took my breath away, it was gorgeous. We have a bean to cup machine and this bean made a great cup of coffee to enjoy any time of the day.I would highly recommend this product. A little pricy but good coffee is not cheap.

Very freshly roasted, incredible aroma and bursting with tarty flavours
The media could not be loaded. The first thing that impressed me when receiving this pack of Meletius roasted coffee beans was that they were roasted just a week ago! It's nice to see the roasted date handwritten on the pack along with the best before date (6 months after roasting). The packet is resealable, strong so unlikely to tear and has a valve to allow the carbon dioxide resulting from the roasting to escape. These Guatemala roasted beans are ethically sourced, single origin beans which have been naturally processed from the top 1% arabica beans. I would consider this a premium coffee at the price, although on grinding even a handful of these beans in an electric grinder, the coffee aroma was off the charts. I've tried quite a few supermarket beans in our grinder but nothing has so far delivered the sweet fruity roasted coffee fragrance that these did.I ground a small handful of beans on a medium grind size and under a minute to complete. I then transferred the ground coffee to our filter machine with enough water to give a medium strength coffee.I usually drink my filtered coffee black with just a little sugar or sweetener to offset any bitterness, but in this case I would happily drink this neat. This Guatemala roast is deliciously fruity, sweet and fragrant, with a slight tarty base. The supplier describes it as having flavour nodes of blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant and hibiscus. I would definitely agree, this coffee is bursting with fruity flavours intensified through the roasting. I'll be trying a stronger blend next time as I feel this coffee has so much to offer.Without doubt the most fragrant and enjoyable coffee beans I have tried at home to date. It only leaves me wondering what have I been missing. Looking forward to exploring other products from Meletius. As mentioned earlier I would class this a premium bean for the price, but if you love your coffee it's worth every penny.

Unfortunately it's dark!
Was left really disappointed by this, I bought due to the mention of "light-medium" roast on the label and description. As soon as I opened the pack it was apparent that this was very much a darker roast. Tastes bitter, far away from the notes mentioned. Darkest roast I've had in years so not to my taste.Maybe just a bad batch but if you're selling a light-medium roast... Please ensure it is

It makes a nice cup of coffee
The aroma of these coffee beans is wonderful! I'm not a coffee expert but I make a small pot every morning in my moka pot and I 'm enjoying the coffee made from these beans. It's not too strong which I'm happy with. At time of writing it costs £35.50 for a kilo which is certainly on the expensive side but it's good that the company supports a charity.

Nice, dark
Described at light to medium roast but personally I'd be more inclined to describe this as medium to dark roast in appearance at least. It's certainly darker than my more regular coffee. It does however make a very nice drink. I used in my espresso maker and it created a nice thick crema and had a nice balanced taste to it, not overly bitter.1kg is a big bag and keep in mind to taste it's best it needs to be used within around 6 months, but the sooner the better. So, that's a lot of coffee to drink. Ideal if you're a regular coffee drinker but not as good value if you rarely drink coffee. For taste and value, it's a thumbs up from me.

Really freshly roasted, not too strong or bitter.
I am not a coffee bean expert, but this one tasted great to me not being too strong or bitter in taste. It was really freshly roasted being done about 1 week before I received it (roasted to order?). The beans seemed easy to mill and not hard.Positives: Seems good value and tastes great, not too strong not too bitter.Negatives: not a self sealing bag (I used a clip-it - so not a big issue for me).I was given this item to review. I have given my honest unbiased views although I have not been able to test this item for long term functionality and build quality over several weeks. To sum up my opinion: would I buy it or not…. YES, absolutly
