Antiference SWS02 Double Wall Plate Spacer

Bought these as found 25mm back boxes would not fit my new metal face plates. Painted them with the same emulsion used on the walls before fitting. After fitting ran a caulk line over the visible edges before painting the caulk with the wall emulsion. Gave a near invisible install. Can be a bit tricky levelling the socket and frame but managed to do it without throwing any tools at the wall 😅

Essential to squeeze a bulky-ended USB socket into an existing box in the wall. Oddly, it’s grey, even though almost every wall socket in the U.K. is white. But whatever. It would be better to have one fitted to the USB sockets. I had to file down the lip to make it fit snugly. Happy with the result though, it’s in shadow so no-one is going to notice the grey colour.

Like other reviewers I struggled to fit double plug sockets with USB ports into the existing backplates due to their being deeper and they ended up screwed in at an angle and not looking great. This little gizmo solved that, took less than 5 minutes to fit (no need to unwire the plug but DO switch the mains off when fitting the spacer) and looks great now. Highly recommend.

Perfect for the job of providing additional space behind wall plate, great for USB sockets. Slightly off-white in colour however so do not match a regular white socket quite right, however they're a great fit, and come with long screws too, value for money is off the scale! I also wasn't put off by the colouring as I've painted them black anyway (using black nickel sockets).

Exactly as advertised. One point to note that I didn't realise until I had fitted it, in my case I didn''t need to completely remove the existing socket to fit this. I just needed to remove the 2 screws. Due to its shape I was able to "thread" it over the socket so did not need to disconnect the wiring. Supplied with longer screws too. I painted it to match the wall cover. Very pleased with this product as the socket was not being used due to a kitchen counter back upstand (see photo)

Good product that done the job

Simple idea but very effective . I had sockets put in before deciding to get a higher up stand in kitchen. Choice was these things or moving the sockets. This option cost a couple of quid ! Yes the finish isn't perfect but you barely notice them. Super value
