All about dirty books
I just watched this on Amazon Prime and it's actually a nice documentary. Let's be clear, this is not really about the 50 Shades books themselves, but the rather curious phenomena that has risen because of them. As many may or may not know, the original 50 Shades book was not as it is now, but rather a fan fiction project around the Twilight phenomenon originally published online. Then a publishing company in Australia picked it up, and it was repackaged to appeal to a mass audience and became one of the best sellers of all time. When it was first published by E.L. James in 2011, the book sold millions of copies worldwide and something truly changed about the world. For many years, it had been whispered and become kind of an urban legend that people were doing what they were doing as described in the books in underground clubs and each others' bedrooms. All of a sudden, with the publication of this book, people were anxious and eager to not just read the books but to try what they are describing. A rather unusual cultural shift took place because of it. Suddenly it's acceptable for women to be seen reading these books or displaying them publicly on their bookshelves at home rather than just hiding them in a brown paper bag, yet it's not acceptable for a man to be seen reading an adult magazine in public. Plus with the advent of the Kindle, one does not even have to be ashamed to be seen reading them in public because that gave you double protection.Study after study has proven that women are excited by words and men are excited by visuals. This was just as true in the pre - 50 Shades era as it is today. Women are not as attracted to porn as men are, but women require things like this to get excited. And suddenly sales of adult sex toys went up as well. And we are laughing at Mommy Porn and snickering at the silliness of it all. How and why does this appeal? There is a certain amount of naughtiness about it, to be sure, but suddenly why is it okay for this? This documentary examines this rather curious phenomena and comes up with few if little answers about it, but then again the makers of this film don't know the answers either.

Time is precious.Don't waste it on this!
OK I actually gave this one an extra star for some of the knowledgeable, unbiased people in this documentary that would have made it a great source of info and actually brought intelligent views on the subject of this watch. Those being PHILIP HODSON, SARA NELSON, MISTRESS JOSEPHINE, CHRIS WHITE & JOANNA KITE. I hope I recalled these names correctly. There was a couple of others that I can't recall the names of that were decent as well. The biggest error as far as I'm concerned in casting was definitely "katie hopkins" ( I did not capitalize even what should be because she doesn't even deserve that). I have never encountered a more envious and jealous individual. Before I commented on why people read Fifty Shades, or state that readers were ashamed to be seen with it and especially comment on EL James looks before or after her millions I think I would take a long look at the uninteresting person in the mirror that couldn't entertain her way out of a wet paper bag in any form named katie. Wow what a hater and she was followed by the so-called funny woman ? eclair. I would also love to know whose idea it was to cast the female duo who lacked anything of interest to say. Whoever it was needs to find a new day job. This documentary is a could have, would have been good watch if they would have eliminated the dead weight cast (especially the self-imposed important people.with huge egos and mouths to match) and left the experienced and knowledgeable "entertaining" ones that had something of interest to say.

As for women who loved the books and the movie
Why would someone take the time to be negative about Ana, her Goddess and the book? Show me your own book. Write the book you want to read. This is fiction. If it does not make sense, save your time for things that do. As for women who loved the books and the movie, you have every right. The author is laughing as she wallows in her cash received for her work.Very rarely does anyone talk about a four year old boy who was dirty, hungry and thirsty in a room with his mother's dead body for four days. The man admits that he considers himself a monster. The boy grew up hiding food in his shoes. He cannot sleep. He is in need of help and he gets it. He will never change but he can try. When 50 SHDS is uncovered, it cannot be uncovered without the back stories. Note that this book is being replicated over and over and over. I'd rather this than playboy mansion stories. My hat is off to E L James

Boring and a waste of time
Clearly there are some people who don't like "50 Shades of Grey", but instead of just saying what they don't like about the movie and/or books, they not only tear every part of the movie/book apart, but also the author and those who like/love the books/movie. They also give their opinion about the people (mostly women) who read the books on the subway/airplane/restaurants etc. and tag them desperate or bored or out for a cheap thrill.I myself like the movie and have watched it several times and I can't wait for the sequels to be released. I just bought the books and started reading them, so no comment on those as I am only a few pages into the first book.A few statements and views that are given in this documentary are actually interesting, but the majority repeat everything over and over again and have little or nothing at all to contribute to the documentary. What stood out the most was "50 Shades of Grey" being labeled "mommy-porn" - yes, I and all the others who like or love the book/movie are looking clearly for a little excitement in our boring love life and I guess they assume we are all "mommies" (with a few kids in tow) and therefore "50 Shades" is labeled "mommy porn".The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of a few comments that had substance and weren't from haters of "50 Shades".
