It supports a 200+ pound disabled man and provides a lot of help getting up off the ground

I live in the basement with my kids upstairs. I am 70 and in good health but I have fallen mainly when walking up the path to may car. It is pretty steep so I got the and carry it when I use the path. Now that it is winter some times the path is slippery and I know if I fall I can get up using this tool. I haven't need to use it yet, but I did lay down on the floor to see how it works and I was able to get up using it. It give me peace of mind know I have it if I need it. I don't need to have fallen and unable to get up outside in the cold or summer because I am not near a window where my kids up stairs can see me.

UPDATE: The company saw my review and refunded, even though it was too late. I'm impressed with their customer service. Previous: useless. Doesn't work as advertised.

The product is exceptionally designed. I just haven't figured out a way to make this useful. Most of the time my arms aren't strong enough to push unless they are straight by side leveraging right at my contact location on the floor. I will bring it to PT and see if they have suggestions.

Cheapy deapy

The concept of this is very good. There were definitely a couple problems in the assembly. Upon opening the box the small bag containing the screws and screwdriver was not sealed as the screwdriver would not fit in all the way. The results were that the screws were bouncing around in the bottom of the box with at least one of them missing. The written directions talk about a "Chicago screw". There was no illustration of the different parts, so I just had to figure out what was what. The online video was partly helpful in determining what to do.

Wow - this is so very helpful I had to buy another one for upstairs. If you’ve gotten to the point where the knees are just not as helpful as they used to be - you know who you are even if you don’t want to admit it - this is a really helpful gizmo. Takes a lot of the angry/sad frustration out of getting up from the sofa or a low chair or the toilet or even on the ground when gardening. You can adjust it for your height needs. It’s very, very sturdy and doesn’t wobble, when you get it in just the right place. Doesn’t take much fiddling around to get the right place either. I have had the first one less than a week when I realized I had to have another one for upstairs too. A great little helper. You won’t be sorry.

Not sturdy at all. Have tried a number of ways to use this but no luck so far. Two may work better than one alone. I ended up switching to something else.

This apparatus is EXACTLY what I needed. I find it very difficult to get off surface when both knees are on it, (age 82) It is extremely well built and one of the great assets is that the bottom plate is WIDE so no slipping over or, to one side of your body when lifting off the surface. Easy to put together and extremely sturdy . Worth every cent and in my opinion, probably the best helpful "watch me stand" device on Amazon.

The stand up helper arrived on time and in excellent condition. I find it helps me get up from the sofa and I use it to assist in getting up from bed. Happy with the purchase.

The photo illustrates an elongated cane-like support stick, but the thing I got does not expand at all. There is a hole in it where a lock or screw would go if it lengthened and you could block it at the position you prefer. They do not include this piece and the thing does not have any extendable part. It us a scam and I am very disappointed as I bought it for my husband's birthday but it obviously will not be usable.

I am very happy with this for helping me get off the floor, something that has become problematic with age and with arthritis in my joints.
