Photography is the art of creating images with light, so good lighting is essential to good photography. Whether you choose to shoot on film or digital media, the resulting images are produced by the effects of light. In this DVD, Fashion Photographer Jon Gray reveals the lighting techniques that professional and commercial photographers use to create stunning images. Starting with a basic head-and-shoulders portrait, this programme covers silhouettes, couples, outdoor photography and male portraits - the techniques covered in the six lighting set-ups can be used to great effect in a multitude of photographic situations.

OK, you get a few ideas
Several of the models look very bored and disengaged, the voices of the assistants is badly recorded, apparently they could only afford one mike. You do get a few ideas however, but there is almost no explanation about how to meter or the importance of lighting ratios. You are expected to know how to use a light meter and understand the technicalities of lighting.Michael

AVOID THIS ONE.
What a dreadful DVD. The photographer appears bored, speaks in a monotone, makes little attempt to explain or be imaginative and his assistants look like they've just got out of bed. An abject lesson on how NOT to make a photographic lighting video, and, alas for me, a complete waste of £18.

Basically a Bowens catalogue
I'd back up everything the other guy said - it was a huge disappointment. OK, he shows you where to stick the lights for a few, (five to be exact), set-ups, but gives no details of what f/stop any of them are metered at or any tips on balancing. And to be honest, the set-ups themselves are all pretty cheesy, sub mid-80's Athena affairs. The whole thing felt like an infomercial for Bowens equipment.
