It took me about 20 minutes to fit together, ...
It took me about 20 minutes to fit together, and that includes cutting the drain pipe and drilling a hole in the water butt. I also placed a bracket below the, "diverter reservoir," to hold the drain pipe in place, as I found the connection slightly loose. Instructions straightforward. I didn't bother cutting 30mms from the pipe I just dropped it further into the drain. I also placed a 2nd washer inside the water butt at the connection point, in order to ensure no leaks occur. Does it work? no idea the day I fitted it together the rain stopped!!!update: It rained today and the diverter works fine.update: had to disassemble as leaves had blocked diverter. Probably need a leaf guard in the guttering to stop leaves running from there down the drain pipe and into the diverter, otherwise some 6 months on it's still working fine.

Does the job
Does the job. Seems dear for a bit of moulded plastic, but couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else.

Works adequately for a square section drainpipe
This works OK for my 'square' 65mm downpipe. It is a tight fit on the top side of the diverter, that's a good thing to stop leaves getting into the collector, but not so good for actually pushing it onto the drainpipe. I used a brick to bash it upwards but it only went up 20mm or so (but it did then stick tightly). As a result I had to cut the lower drainpipe off quite a bit more than the 20mm shown on the diagram - more like 50mm. Not a huge problem, but if they fabricated the item 0.5mm wider on each side it would probably work better. Also, I have a niggle about what happens if leaves and moss coming down the main drainpipe block the diverter nozzle? It's a real faff to have to disconnect the whole thing to clean it out if that happens - especially when my diverter is up at a considerable height! Again, just putting a small plastic 'grille' on the nozzle entrance (ie. inside the square diverter section) would be a major benefit. I have put a small 'plug' of steel wool inside the diverter at the entry to the nozzle - let's see if that keeps it clear. On the lower side of the diverter it would be much better if it had a square section like on the upper side, to fit tightly into the square lower drain pipe. As it is, the lower side is loose because the round section is narrower than the (non existent) square section.I really can't see the benefit to having a dual square/round compatibility - they should just make 2 different models!Apart from these comments, it seems to be a cheap and cheerful item that serves its purpose adequately (for a square section pipe - I have no idea how it would fit for a round section).

Not as pictured
Arrived on time and fitted ok. Not as pictured as it doesn't have the top cover to stop dirt getting in. Still waiting for rain to test.
