Does the junction box protect against UV?

This is a waterproof box. Which is easy to fit and can be used below or above ground. I would presume that it would protect against natural sunlight. It can only maintain a water tight seal using round cables not the flat type. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to connect a flat cable?

I would say no.The sleeves are only for round cables.
