- The Modica chocolate is a product that has very ancient origins, already present in ancient Aztec culture. Its peculiarity lies in the cold preparation. Today it is an internationally renowned sweet and can be enjoyed in its classic versions, including high cocoa percentages (from 65% to 90%), or in the many flavored versions.
- Modica (Rg), which since the fifteenth century until around the thirties of the twentieth was the fourth largest city in Sicily by population and political importance, was economically and culturally vibrant, thanks to the presence of ecclesiastical educational institutions and lay people that have made a remarkable study center.
