SIMPATCH – Dexcom G5, G4 Adhesive Patch (25-Pack) – Waterproof Adhesive, CGM Patch – Multiple Color Options

To James Duffy, founder of Simpatch, our son Vincenzo is a 4 year old type 1 diabetic. He recently started using the Dexcom Glucose Meter. We have to trim the simpatch to fit around the site, but it works great. Vin goes swimming once a week and gets a bath every night and the Simpatch is still intact a week later! He also loves the color blue. We let him pick the color to help create a smooth process when we have to remove the sensor each week and replace it to a different location on his tummy. We use adhesive remover pads to help get the Simpatch off and it comes off smoothly. Great product! I would recommend it to others! We hope to see more colors and maybe even fun designs. I read a lot of reviews of this product before buying it and decided it was safe to use.I used only one of these patches. I had difficulty applying it (whoever heard of having to carefully separate a perforated backing on a bandage-type product!); it covered part of the sensor housing on one side.But my trouble came after I removed it to replace my expired sensor. It removed skin in several places which then became inflamed. I am still treating the wound after a week.I highly recommend NOT buying this product.

Great adhesive and kept my sons Dex intact after a full day of swimming when everything else we've tried hasn't.

After reading the reviews, and seeing the slightly lower price, I decided to give these a try. Some people in the reviews say they are better than grifgrips, some say GG are better. I was willing to take a gamble.The gamble did not pay off, unfortunately. I have tried using this several different ways:1. As directed, being sure to rub the patch to activate the adhesive with heat, making sure my skin is clean and dry, etc2. by applying skintac first to add extra stickiness. Neither worked well. I have been using these for 3+ months, and I can't get one to stick without peeling at the edges for longer than 3 days. I have never had a problem with other things sticking to my skin, the actual dexcom sensor, grifgrips, etc. For comparison, with skintac + grifgrips, I can get 3 weeks out of a Dexcom sensor, reliably. I guess Simpatches work better for some than others. I will use up what I have, but I will not be ordering more.The one good thing about the Simpatch is that since they don't stick well on my skin, I can easily remove them once they start peeling and add another one to try and prolong the life of my sensor. But with other products, I wouldn't need to do that.

So far, we are happy with our purchase! They seem to stay on the best, fromthe products we have tried since my son's relatively recent diabetesdiagnosis in December. They are much stickier than anything we have used inthe past few months. My son is a very active 12 year old who plays hockeyand football and also attends strength/agility classes at our gym. TheSimpatch has been able to stay in place, without the edges curling down,with all of the sweat, showers, and swimming (we have a pool).Here is my suggestion. Being a slim, fit, active child means that my sondoesn't have much skin real estate to work with. I wish you made smallersizes so the skin has less of an opportunity to become irritated afterbeing covered with the patch. He also uses it over his pump site, this areawould especially benefit from a smaller size patch since the cannula isquite a bit smaller than the CGM site. We rotate his sites constantly butthere is an over lap.I have tried cutting them down (my Doctor'srecommendation) but it doesn't work as well for me to get the clean edge.

Recently changed my Medtronic infusion set to a Sure-T. No more problems with bent cannula’s but they kept getting caught on things and falling off. There is a thick plastic butterfly used to insert the needle and then a very small adhesive patch that did not stick very well. And things would get caught on the butterfly. Placing the SimPatch over the device eliminated that problem even though it does not cover the butterfly it keeps the infusion sets securely on. Have not pulled off any sets since I stared using the patch. Highly recommended.

I’ve been using a different brand like a tegaderm patch that I had to cut my own hole in to fit over my transmitter. This was a huge benefit to me having an exact ready made whole. The other worked okay but if I had any lows or in the heat and had any amount of sweat, the other just didn’t last like this Simpatch did. I like the nude color and it adheres great and makes me feel much more confident in my sensor and transmitter staying in place. No edges lifting and very nice and secure at the end of my time to wear it. Great product and I’ll definitely be using these from now on. Great job Simpatch!

I’ve been wearing a Dexcom for at least 5 years now and have using various taping methods to increase the life span of the sensor. This little miracle is AWESOME. I will admit that I was skeptical at first. The hole seemed too small to fit around the sensor. I quickly discovered how flexible the fabric is and it fits almost perfectly. I say almost, because this is only my first attempt at wearing the SIMPATCH and I’m sure it takes a little practice to get just right. It’s been on for almost a week, and shows minimal signs of wear - and THAT was over spring break - so I’m sure it will be up to the challenge of daily life. Thanks for adding comfort, ease, and peace of mind to my CGM!

Highly recommend this tape. Most importantly people with sensitive skin this is the tape you need to use. No skin irritation. Adhesive is good usually last a week to ten days with getting it wet several times a day.

I bought these to use for the Dexcom G5 sensors and transmitters and they don’t fit properly around them. I’m going to have to cut the center whole to make it fit overtop.
