Rockin’ Mandolin

I am an intermediate to advanced player but I think that this book would be a good addition to any mandolin player's library. The CD is especially helpful and although some of the rhythyms are a little awkward to pick up between the text and the CD one can learn quickly.There is only weaknesses that found was that the CD could use some more narration. A brief description by the author up front of each section would help. A little more descriptions of how to apply each rhythym and where they work best would help as well.Overall I highly recommend this book.

Not a songbook, but a useful primer on various ways to use the mandolin in a rock or country rock setting. A book to dip into rather than to work through. Not an especially long book, but cheap enough and a handy addition to your mandolin library.

マンドリンで頻発に使うコードのいくつかはフレットをいくつも跨ぐので、ギターより指がきつい。その訓練になるフレーズが紹介してあります。コード・バッキングだけでなく、クロス・ピッキングやトレモロなどの基本的なテクニックも紹介してあり、ロックのリズムにマンドリンをどのように用いたらいいか、この本はそのヒントを提供してくれるでしょう。ロックはリズムが命ですから、リズムの練習には最適な本です。それ程多くのことは書かれていませんが、ロックの基本的なリズムを習得できる数少ない本です。本の内容だけでなく、ジャム・セッションにも挑戦してみてください。
