Absolutely WONDERFUL!!! Must have!
These 9" shears are absolutely exceptional!! The shears are solidly constructed, which you can see just by looking at them. Moreover, you can feel it when holding the shears and using them. The handle has a covered grip, making it very comfortable to use. These scissors are very sharp and they cut multiple layers of wide variety of fabrics and quilt batting like butter!! The cutting action is so smooth! They are heavier than my other shears but not so heavy I can't use them. With regular use, I've adjusted to the weight.I'm a seamstress, quilter, maker and these are my new favorite fabric shears!!! This pair I could easily compare the functionality to my more expensive ones but this one came at a fraction of the cost! I, also, really like the box these arrived in. It will serve useful for storing and traveling with my new favorite shears. I highly recommend these 9" shears! Thank you so much!!!

Guggenhein 9 inch professional tailor shears five stars out of 5.
The Guggenhein 9 inch scissors come in a very good packaging in a nice box with a protector on the blades. When opened and looked at they are very nicely designed. They fit a woman's hand well and are made big enough to even handle a man's hand. They are not overly heavy or lightweight when in use. They are extremely sharp. I cut a tshirt in half of them with no frays in the fabric when cut straight through. They are sharp enough if you do the cut and then tear method with the scissors on both quilting cotton fabric and normal tshirt fabric. Five stars. The only small flaw is that they had some machine oil on the blades which I did not notice right away. It didn't seem to rub off though on my fabric or stain it. Just be careful to check for oils on the scissors with any tool you use and wipe them down once before use.

They are SWEET! I was disappointed when I saw that German scissors were manufactured in Japan, but I'm trying to get over it as they are very nice.

Guggenheim shears didn’t meet my expectations.
I found them to be very heavy for doing a lot of cutting. They were ice and sharp but just too heavy for senior citizens. I believe my account was credited with a refund but I have not received the Gingher shears that were promised if not completely satisfied.

SUPER sharp and easy to use
I bought these scissors fully expecting to be disappointed in their cutting ability and figuring I'd receive a refund and a free pair of scissors, as shown in the listing. But then I used them. I have some super sharp Singer scissors that are 30ish years old, and they cut great, so I had a good basis for comparison. These Guggenhein scissors are so sharp! They cut smoothly through multiple layers of fabric, and they're a nice size for cutting longer cuts (not so much hand fatigue). Here's the kicker... to fully test just how sharp they are, I decided to try a test on some thick mat board. Mat board is almost as thick as a penny, and I've tried other scissors on it with no luck. I even bought a pair of "titanium" scissors that were supposed to be the sharpest available, and they didn't work. These Guggenhein scissors cut through a sheet of mat board like it was a sheet of printer paper.Needless to say, I won't be requesting a refund or a free pair of scissors... because that would mean lying! :-)

Redisign is awesome! Handles thinner, less awkward
**** keep reading for update below *** version 2.0I am sorry to say I instantly regretted this purchase as soon as I opened the package. The rubber is EXTREMELY uncomfortable, and the quality is far inferior to what I expected. They are heavy and do not feel as smooth as I had hoped. I wanted to like them, I really did, but they did not meet my expectations.Photo one: I get better, easier extension with Gingher shears of same size. The guggenheins are not positioned to open very wellPhoto 2: guggenheins are MUCH MUCH bulkier and heavier than Ginghers and much more cumbersome to use.**** update ***The Scissors have since been redesigned and I must say I’m very happy with the changes. The handles are thinner and they are easier to use in smaller hands. However, I will say that the blade is shorter than in the first version. That doesn’t matter though because you couldn’t use the full blade in the first version anyway because they were so awkward to open. I am very very pleased with the re-design and quality of the scissors

Very smooth cutting shears
This shears cuts multiple layers of fabric very smoothly, and I like the feel of it. The blades are very sharp and good for fleece, batting, polyester, etc. However, I am left-handed and have some arthritis on my hands. These conditions are affected by the weight of this shears. It is heavier than what I am used to, and it will be harder for me (seniors) to use long time.I will recommend this to younger, healthier dressmakers and quilters.

Do not hesitate, you will love these!!
Beautiful weight, feels so good in my hands! The handle is large enough and shaped well enough to give me a comfortable handle at any angle of use. Plus the handles have a comfortable coating that eliminates slipping too! The cutting is so clean and crisp - the mechanism makes closing and opening smooth as silk, no jerky or sloppy movement with these! I highly recommend to any serious sewer! I've been sewing for over 50 years, these are the best I've ever purchased and goodness knows, I've been through too many pairs of scissors.
