Works as advertised, causes minor bending
Works well, but do not do vertically as pictured. Likely too tight and will cause you problems, down the road.A little tight even for my very small pocket notebook, causes slight, maybe temporary, bending.

BOOKSLINGS
This item is not worth the money that it cost. The pen didn't write and wanted on that I could attached to a different not pad

Poor stitching
Unfortunately after 3 weeks of use, the stitching that divides the two parts of the Booksling is coming. It will probably still hold onto the pen it came with once the stitching is gone (the mini pen has a clip), but it won't hold onto the pen I am using very well.I am using it on a Moleskine notebook, as its use is mentioned in the product description.

Not bad but a little tight
Be very careful installing this on your moleskin notebook you have to hold open with two hands to stretch over the cover. If you don't put the elastic all the way back to the binding, the cover will just crumple. Once carefully installed, it works great.

sling
This will NOT fit anything of any size. When it says "mini" it means little.... think 3x5 index cards. I don't think it can be used for anything as big as a steno pad (does anyone still use them?) and certainly will not fit a legal pad.But it is a good idea. I'd just like it to be bigger. Maybe I'll make one with elastic and velcro -- and it can fit the size pad/book/journal that I want to use it with.ADDITIONAL INFO:I pulled out a ruler. The sling comes stretched over a piece of cardboard that is 3 5/8" long. It is a piece of elastic that is 7/8" wide. It is fairly stretchy. I have an HTC Incredible Droid phone. My phone measures 4 5/8" in length and 5/8" in thickness. I was able to stretch it length-wise over my phone. With effort, I could stretch it over something a little larger -- but not much. The package print reads: < Stretch around cover or entire book. For soft cover books, include at least 20 pages and place near spine. High quality woven elastic stretches 3-6 1/4". Perfect for: Small journals, sketchbooks, notebooks, address books, index cards. Fits all pocket MOLESKINE notebooks. (I don't know what that is). >Hope this is helpful to anyone interested in this item.

The perfect addition
What can I say. If you carry one of those Moleskin pocket journals, this is the perfect addition to insure you always have a pen available. As others have commented, the included pen doesn't meet my quality standards; so I replaced it with a "Zebra F301 compact" pen. I am very happy with my purchase.

Don't waste your time
The only thing good about this sling is that it is cheap. It looks cheap, feels cheap and only works with the crappy short pen they included. Once you run out of ink / lose that cheap pen, you are out of luck - don't even think about using a normal pen with this thing.
