The Dead Daisies

Very good album!
The Dead Daisies' debut album was originally released in 2013. The record was originally released through Spitfire Music and contains twelve rockin' tunes that runs about forty five minutes in length. The record is a good sounding disc with production by John Fields and Jon Stevens. Those familiar with The Dead Daisies' more famous material will find their debut album interesting. The line up is considerably different with the previously mentioned producers Stevens on vocals and guitar and Fields on bass guitars and other instruments. There's a number of drummers here and a cool lead guitar appearance from the legendary Slash. This album features a more '70s sound. The guitars aren't balls to wall heavy and have a much cleaner tone that reminds me a bit of the legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival. It's quite a change from anything else the band has released. I particularly enjoyed the singer Jon Stevens. The man has a lovely smooth voice that brings out a lot in the band's music and it's a shame they didn't stick with him. There's a good number of up beat rockers with great choruses. Plenty to keep the average rock fan happy.Despite being a fair contrast to later Daisies released, I would highly recommend this one. It's a nice change from the norm, features some really good performances and very fun songs. By all means pick it up!

Nothing dead about these Daisies
Saw these guys on their recent UK tour supporting Black Star Riders and they were superb. Already heard a couple of the tracks and was looking forward to seeing them play, I wasn't disappointed.Noiseworks was a favourite band of mine in the 80s/90s and Jon Stevens has made his mark here as well, with an accomplished group of musicians steeped in recording and live performance with some of the worlds most (in)famous bands is a guarantee of success in my book and doesn't disappoint.A great collection of songs, the album is a winner but doesn't convey the power of the band live so a Live release would be a great companion to this album.

70's/80's Rock for the new generation
Rarely I get an album where there is not a track I don't like as much as the rest but in this case the whole album is excellent. If your love of music is great 70's/80's rock brought in to the present with a now feel to it also then this band is for you. Love it!!
