Seems to work fine with my iMac, however it needed to be connected directly to the iMac usb port - there’s not enough power if trying to connect via a usb hub.

Brilliant realised I can’t rip cds any more after the demised of my pc’s motherboard and its replacement with a lap top and now I can, at the speed of greased lightning and also play them if my music streamer packs in. The lead is short but didn’t bother me.

It does exactly what I want it to do, which is reading CDs so that I can rip them onto my mp3 player. Can get loud but I find it easy to drown out so it doesn’t bother me at all. Find the fact that the wire comes tucked in to the player very useful for storage. Haven’t had a problem with anything yet but I haven’t tried to read any dvds yet. For £20, I’d say it’s good value for money.

The one I ordered came and it didn't work, I emailed the company and within the week thy had sent me a new one. Works well, good company.

I initially encountered a problem because my television is an older model and the HDMI output on it is totally different to the HDMI cables that came with the DVD player. However, I was able to connect the DVD player using an adaptor into which my Firestick is inserted. As the adaptor has space for two items, I disconnected Roku and used that empty port for the DVD player. I will admit that I’m not technically minded, but if I could sort it out then installation will be a breeze for those who are technically minded. The DVD player works beautifully and I’m delighted with it.

I had high hopes of this dvd drive after reading the good reviews about it and it seems to perform well when reading any kind of disc. But when I tried to write to a DVD+RW disc, which is primarily the reason why I purchased it, the problems began. Using the USB C part of the attached dual A and C USB cable I thought that the C plug would provide enough power to burn the DVD+RW from my Mac Studio but it flagged an error message stating that there was not enough power to calibrate the laser or something to that end. So I tried plugging both A and C connections into the Mac and the drive was no longer available to the machine. The I tried plugging the A connection into a mains socket via an adapter and the C connection into the Mac and the DVD drive was still no longer available. All in all a bit of a disappointment so it’s going back. There may be an another way of getting it to work but I couldn’t think of one. I did not try to burn any CDs or DVDRs, they may or may not work, it just didn’t do what I wanted it to do. If you primarily want it for reading discs it’s not a bad buy for the price.

I bought this for my Kamrui mini PC which didn't have a built in optical drive. It was recognized and worked beautifully for Windows 11 on that hardware. Very light weight. I would recommend a carrying case for it does not seem as durable as say, an apple super drive. Still really good purchase though.
