The Hydrant - Hands Free Drinking, Solving The Problem of Reaching, Lifting or Holding Drinks

This item was recommended to me as i have several disabilities including ME, Fibromyalgia, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, Joint Hypermobility (possible EDS), Hemiplegic Migraines, severe Autonomic Dysfuction, to name a few! Sometimes I'm stuck in bed for days unable to move, not even able to sit up to get a drink, which then causes dehydration and makes matters so much worse, especially my heart condition as dehydration can make my irregular and fast heart rate become life threatening for me. I also have very painful hands and fingers, which are weak and have tremors, so I'm very good at spilling drinks! I've been buying so many different cups, beakers, bottles, jars, straws, anything and everything, to try and keep my flyid levels up, nothing worked!That was until I got this, it's fantastic! I hang it above me on my bed, and even lying flat, I can still drink, I can have it next to me and clip the straw to my top and not even pick anything up when I need a drink!My Cardiologist told me I have to drink 4 litres of water a day to increase my blood volume, before I bought the Hydrant , it was physically impossible for me, now I can do it!It's making such an improvement to the quality of my life! I never would of thought a simple thing like this would make such a huge difference, I'm so great full to the designer of this product, and also the wonderful company I bought it off, as it came so quickly, well packaged and came with extra information (there's was info on the box, a leaflet inside, and the sellers also put in extra information leaflet snide the packaging)Also the little end piece that you drink through, is fab, I was worried it might leak, as it's a little valve that you bite on to open it and the drink flows through, it does leak at all, not even a tiny bit! (no need to be able to suck to much if you have the Hydrant bottle up higher, as it's more free flowing once valve opened, if it's lower then it's just like sucking a normal straw) The one thing I will just say is wash the valve several times before first use, as I washed mine started drinking and it tasted like really strong plastic (just like the smell of a new paddling pool!) I washed it over and over before that taste finally disappeared, when I need to replace this one, I'll soak it first so won't be an issue at all, but wanted to mention so you do give up on it, thinking that taste won't go away!Very happy customer!!!!

Great product. I bought this for my partner whom had a serious accident of his right arm and had a metal fixator in situ. This has been a God sent to him as he has been able to drink whilst laying in bed with no spillage. Its got a handy clip on the line to attach it to something so it doesn't slip away. It's easy to wash out. I'd reccomend getting the pipe cleaner that goes with it separate.

Does just what it says on the box, ideal for my disabled wife and easy for her to use

Great idea, and thanks SO much to the first reviewer. Your review struck a chord with me (uncanny diagnostic similarities!), and encouraged me to buy this even though I'm not 'ill enough' to have to use this kind of equipment! But my arms, wrists and thumb aches so much picking up a normal water bottle. And the bite valve is much easier than other bottles, as my jaw isn't great either.Altogether i Have found it very useful. And glad to hear the plastic taste wears off, as it tastes pretty awful the first couple of times and I'd have given up on it without knowing it wears off!

Its a must have for me as im preparing for labour soon . Im said it gonna help me to hydratate myself .
