Worth the price!
I installed these on my 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic and they look good. More importantly, they function much better than the halogens which were in there. Yes there are age differences but the change was more than that. I can see much further down the road on low beam (more even than the halogens on high beam) with a whiter light. The high beams are quite good and definitely extend the vision ahead and to the sides of the vehicle. Now I never feel as if I am over driving the headlights even at posted speeds on country roads. Never have been brighted since installation. I do live where the deer and the coyotes play in the roads as well as the domestic cats and dogs. In town and out these are great lighting. One noted item on high beam.... there is a not so bright spot if you are up close to something (about 5 feet off the garage door). But come on... if you have brights on and are that close you are already in trouble! In the distance where the high beams are normally needed, the lighting is absolutely fine! Speaking of installation... allow time to be careful, the holders in the back of the light on the vehicle needed to be opened up for the back of these is slightly larger but this is not a difficult thing to do at all. No cutting required. No additional wiring/adapters was needed. Has not given any additional heat up of wiring harness or draw on on amps that I have noticed. Have had installed just over a month. If you are wondering, I am a mechanically inclined female but anyone who has some patience, logic, has screwdrivers can do this. Would suggest measuring the height of your lights again something (I did a garage door) marking vertical & horizontal with blue tape before touching the old ones. Mark for center of high beam and low beam for both sides. Do not move vehicle. Next step was to only remove the ring for the light (light metal piece) and touch no other screws. Install lights, with the minor modification described earlier, and reinstall new lights (bulbs already in place). Restore the ring with the screws removed and test against your marks. Thinking seriously of the round version for my 67 Mustang as I like the look and the light so well.

Rampage 5089927 Halogen Conversion Headlight Kit
I bought these to replace the sealed beam headlights on my 2006 GMC Savana Cutaway with a Trademaster tradesman-style box. If you're reading this, then you're aware of how uneven and erratic the beam is on a sealed headlight. I was leery about trying these because they were DOT approved. I was ready to purchase either IPF's or Hella's E-code, or European approved, headlights. I decided to try these because of Amazon's return policy. What I couldn't find was a decent description of how these performed. After I installed them, and re-aimed them, I was impressed for the most part. The beam pattern, as another reviewer noted, kept the spotiness to a minimum. The beam is rather consistent from left to right, and the cutoff is fairly defined for a prismatic lens. Along the top of the pattern (furthest from the truck) where it cuts off is a slightly brighter area in the middle-right. I have my left and right headlights pointed so the brighter areas sit side-by-side in the middle of the road. Beneath the cutoff (moving closer to the truck), the light remains consistent right up to where my hood gets in the way of my field of view. And, while I don't know how to describe the elevation that my low beam's cutoff, or how far out from the front of the truck I have them set at, where I set them on low beam worked perfectly when switching to high beam. In other words, the highs are perfectly shining down the road instead of too high or too low. The high beam does not have the cutoff. Instead, it throws more light down the road, left to right, while scattered light hits the trees above (good for when you're beginning up a hill) as well as in front of you, beneath the brighter area down the road. My only complaint is I would have expected a wider beam that would have covered the sides more. If I were to guess, the beam covers 30-35 degrees to the left and right of the centerline of the truck. I would like to have seen 50-60 degrees so I could see further when turning at stop signs or on side roads. In that respect, maybe that's what a DOT approved headlight is supposed to do? The other thing I liked was the style of rubber boot that goes over the lamp. It has a round grommet built into the middle that seals around the lamp base, rather than three slits that the lamp's electrical prongs poke through. I can't speak for how long the rubber grommet will last. I'll try to remember to edit my review in six years. I intend on keeping them since the cost was fair, and they came with lamps. They're so much better than what I had. EDIT 8/14/14: These lights are still doing a great job. The lenses haven't pitted, nor scratched from road debris. There is no discoloration nor distortion of the reflector from the light bulbs' heat. And, there has been no entry of moisture or water. I ordered a second set for my '87 Cherokee for off-road trips. I've been really happy with these; I changed my four stars to five.

Excellent upgrade -- 100% recommend!
These had a long shipping time and are well worth the wait. Nicely crafted, all glass with a real quality feel. Easy to install as a sealed beam, i used the included bulbs. No instructions are included -- if you are driving around in something old enough to need this kit you probably are handy enough to figure it out. I aimed the lights after installing, low beams have about the same pattern as the sealed beams but with a whiter, brighter light. They have not caused other drivers to flash me. High beams really punch out the light with both more distance and brightness as well as a better spread of light to the sides, great for spotting the deer. 100% satisfied with this purchase.

Great results for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee
I installed these as replacements for Sylvania XtraVision sealed beam headlights on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. These are solidly made, have a nice tight fit in the stock retainer ring, and no modifications needed. 20-minute install. With the included H4 bulbs, these are only slightly brighter than the XtraVisions, but the light is a bit whiter and far more focused with a much sharper cutoff. Because these don't diffuse light like the sealed beams, I was able to fine-tune the aim to put light right where I want it. I can now see further down the road with low-beams (without blinding oncoming traffic), and the high-beam pattern covers a much wider angle, both up-down and left-to-right. A wiring-harness upgrade will be my next upgrade...I suspect the combination will be the ultimate lighting upgrade for street use. Fantastic value, great results with very little effort, I only wish I had done this conversion years ago.

The best option.
These are the best upgrade for sealed beams there is. You may have to cut and bend the tabs on the metal headlight bucket, near the rubber bulb seal. It is just larger in diameter than the hole in my 1988 gmc Polycarbonate and acrylic lensed competitors and led conversion units yellow over time and usually cost way more. These are solid and beautiful. The included bulbs are totally usable, and brighter than sealed beams. The aluminum reflectors create a nice paternity of light that easily aims with a strong cutoff above low beams so you know you aren't blinding anyone. High beams are better than many modern cars I also picked up a set of BEAMTECH H4 LED bulbs to try out. They work with the reflectors very well and light up about the same area, but they are excellent at showing every detail of the road in the lit up area, I can see icy patches and potholes clearer. When installing the leds, I had to trim the rubber seal at the back of these housings , it was to deep around the bulb itself ,like 1/8th of an inch And the bumps in the rubber that go up against the back of the housing. Again about 1/8th of an inch. A few minutes with a razor blade and the led will push into the rubber and fit nice.

Awesome conversion for my '93 Jeep Cherokee Sport
I was replacing at least one of the stock sealed beam headlights on my '93 jeep cherokee sport every year from burn outs. Was looking at these and decided to give them a try. I couldn't be more satisfied. The install required that I bend the two metal tabs on the back supporting cup so that the back end of these headlight housings could nestle into them. I used a bar and hammer and whacked a few times until they bent back. I couldn't fit a wrench in there like other buyers mentioned. The lights appear dim when staring at them head on compared to the stock headlights. That is because the front bezel of the stock scatters the light so much. These just mirror out the light through clear front glass. The light distribution for dims compared to the stock is more wide ranging and more distant. The intensity of dims is 2-3 times as much as stock. The high beams are awesome! The bulbs that do come with these headlight conversions are really nice and I feel no need to upgrade them for my typical night time road driving. Also, I've had no issues with oncoming drivers thinking these were too bright and flashing their high beams. Just make sure they are pointed correctly. I should have done this years ago.

Better than original Jeep Cherokee lights
The good: Overall, clear improvement over my old, GOOD condition/new sealed beams. The high beams are great. The Bad: The low beams are a bit spotty and offer very little light to the sides, compared to the original lights that went REALLY wide to each side. I don't hate them, but I don't particularly like them. It took a lot of trial and error to adjust them to a decent compromise. I aimed the right side further to the right and a little higher to provide more light to the ditch side, so I can see wildlife coming out of the woods. Lots of deer here. I also aimed them somewhat high to get the high beams just right. Some people seem to think my low beams are too bright... maybe they are aimed a tad high but oh well. Now I can see. The top line of the low beam pattern is not clear and straight. Each light has a strange little upside down "triangle" popping out at the middle. The pattern is nowhere near as crisp cut as Euro H4's. Which leaves me wondering if I should have tried Hella euro H4's...... that little nagging feeling of what if.

As you probably know these OE style sylvania lights do not give the best light quality as they age
I bought these headlight conversions for my 1997 Chevy C1500 pickup with the 4.3L V6. My truck had just your everyday sealed beam lights made by sylvania. As you probably know these OE style sylvania lights do not give the best light quality as they age. Buying these conversion lights was a must for me. I ordered these from amazon and the shipping was right on time, took about 4 business days. I tried to do some research on these lights but didn't find many reviews of installation videos. I went to install them and the OE headlight housing that holds the sealed beam in place had to be modified so that the tabs in the back of the housing (that would hold the original bulb in place) would accommodate the dust cover on the rampage housing. I had to take out the OE headlight housing and cut off these tabs so the new rampage light housings would fit. I then took some tin snips and trimmed the hole in the back of the OE light housings so that the dust covers would not be rubbed or cut. After trimming the OE housings the Rampage Conversion Lights fit perfect on the truck. All installed, I now have easy access to the back of the bulbs without any hassles. I would recommend go to Oreilly's and buy the high temp headlight sockets (Part # 84790) mine were old and crumbling. It is easy to pull off the whole front wiring harness clip that goes to the headlights. You need to take off the whole grill, front turn signals. There is a quick disconnect underneath the hood up on the driver side fender near the brake master cylinder. Disconnect the quick disconnect and follow the harness down the front of the truck; disconnect connections as you go, one for the washer pump near the washer fluid reservoir and one under the front bumper that connects to the air bag deploy sensor. (MAKE SURE your battery is disconnected and the air bag fuse is pulled inside the truck before this step) After all this you then can lay the whole harness out on a work bench and change out the headlight sockets This product is great, amazing light quality. I did not use the bulbs the new lights came with. I have them as backups in my truck. I just went to O'Reillys and got some sylvania ultra bulbs. With these glass housing rampage bulbs I can see through the woods at night, and through snow storms no problem.
