I recieved a used item on a 'new' listing. this still has food flakes in it. the packaging was put back together so poorly and was still shipped to me. the power cable has been kinked even! No happy with the reselling of not just openbox but used items with food in them.

This device does more or less when it says it does. It's a little bit tricky to get it set up and understand how it works. But once you do, it's really set it and forget it. And the edit camera on it is actually pretty cool. I was having an issue with the software, and using Amazon chat with the company itself, they actually fix the app in real time. Customer service like this is hard to find. I would definitely tell people to buy this!

Great idea but keeps disconnecting from router preventing me from using the device when I’m not home which makes it essentially obsolete

All function work perfectly and so easy to install. Quality of the app is much better than expected, easy to use and no bugs so far

I wish there was another way for people like me who have lids on their fish tanks. Which I imagine is a large amount of people. They say you can still have a lid on your aquarium but not really. I have a fish feeder I got a while ago very similar to how this one operates except it's smaller. I have trouble as it is trying to get all of the fish food at the time of feeding to go into the tank. It only can go into the tank via a small crack where the tank lid meets the aquarium side glass where my filter is. Most aquariums also have edges on their aquariums, and this also prevents a smoother operation when having a lid. With my old feeder, I couldn't use the mechanism that hangs on the ledge of the tank that you screw tight to keep it in place because of the ledge and position of it so I had to prop it up with Velcro. I am afraid it is going to be another situation like that with this one. Except even worse because this fish feeder is larger and heavier. After getting it to stand up and stay up in the correct spot it is a matter of getting all the fish food inside the tank via that crack. Especially, when using flakes like I do. This one being larger and heavier will most definitely be a problem. It would be no problem on a tank with no lid however and even better on a tank with no ledge. The feeder itself is made of good material and the design works well. (on aquariums with no lid) It isn't too hard to figure out and it comes with a manual that tells you how to put it together, how to put it on, and how to make it work. You get to choose between three different sizes how much fish food you want to release at once into your tank. And it can use a fair variety of different types of fish food. I love that it has an app to go along with it. My other one did not have an app. So, I had to set it up before I would leave town and hope that it remained working while I was gone. Having no idea if my fish were getting food or not. This always would worry me ruining my vacation. And you couldn't change any settings while you were gone. This one you can easily change the settings with the app. Also, one of the best features if not the best feature is the camera. So, not only can you change a setting while you are gone you can see if your fish are actually receiving and eating their food! Verifying it is working correctly. And if you angle the camera right you can see how much fish food it gave your fish. Not only that, but you can just watch your aquarium while you're gone just to check on them reassuring yourself your fish are o.k. And the camera is an impressive one. It gives a very clean and crisp view. And you can see a pretty large portion of your tank. It of course depends on how big your tank is and the angle and position of your camera as to how much of your aquarium you see. I have a 20-gallon high aquarium and can nearly see all of it. (I used the camera even before I set up the fish feeder just for fun) Why, not? So, if you are someone who goes on vacation a lot or has to travel and you have fish and no one to feed them for you then this is the next best thing for sure. It works well. And you will appreciate the extras such as the camera. I recommend this fish feeder. But I can't stress enough that the ease of setting it up and using it is all going to depend on whether you have a lid on your tank or not and if you do what kind of lid. If you have space cut out or can cut out a space, then you can sit the feeder next to it and this may work fine. If it is all glass, then you won't be able to use it unless you keep half your lid up during the times you use it. These are all things to think about before purchasing it.

The product stops working after two months of use. Do not recommend at all!

I was surprised at how much this feeder weighs. I read the listing, but until I held it, I just didn't think about it. I like that it's got two options for the food to drop out a small hole or the bigger hole. The camera was pretty easy to set up and it really does suction on super easy. The dispenser lid options were hard for me to snap on and off, but my hands are acting up with arthritis. The food cover with the desiccant is an extra touch that I wasn't expecting. Everything is working and now I feel more comfortable leaving the house sitter with the fish. They're picky and don't like changes in routines. I can get them used to seeing this and getting a new routine before I have to leave. This means that they won't be affected. I like the idea of keeping tabs on them via the camera app. This auto feeder from EC Technology is a great way to capture my fish and keep them feed routinely! It holds quite a bit! 12 out of 10 would gift to another fish lover!

Just an all around nightmare of a product.
