New at rug hooking
This book is very informative. I am new to the craft and this is a huge help. This focuses on primitive hooking so if you are wanting a more modern approach this is not it.

New to rug hooking. This is just what I needed
I received this book in late August. I’ve read it through completely, twice. I refer to it frequently as I’m hooking. I’ve learned to hook nearly perfect stars and as a result of reading it added shading and dared to change the design in a beginner kit I was working. I’d recommend this book to anyone. It has clear step by step directions. Has great photos and even a pull out pattern if you want to create your own rug pattern. I’d recommend this book to anyone. It’s been invaluable to me.

Wendy Miller wrote an excellent rug hooking book for wide cut primitive rug hooking with clear, well- chosen words, and photos to entice youto hook with wide cuts. I, myself, am a traditional rug hooker who prefers #4, #5, and #6 cuts of wool to hook; I am now going to explore further and will hook with an #8 cut. Thank you Wendy! Please buy this very well-written rug hooking book. It belongs in your library, and you will go back to it as you rug hook and read it for explanations of various techniques.

Excellent book for beginner in rug hooking. Lots of tips on working primitive rugs.

A great book to own
I have alot of rug hooking how-to books plus Rug Hooking Magazine. For the style I'm interested in hooking ,this is the most valuable resourse available although ,I think that this culd be interpereted to all widths. It is written in a clear, precise manner and explains in detail step by step instruction not only in wide cut, but different backrounds and finishing. A-Z, really! A great book to own!

Everything in the book is so clear and explained simply. There are many photos of "how to hook" techniques as well as pictures of beautiful, fully primitive, finished rugs. I think this is a perfect book for people who would like to rug hook but do not have time to join a rug hooking class. In my opinion, one of the best rug hooking books I have seen.
