Victor Horsley New Edition

Michael Aminoff has written an account of one of the first neurosurgeons. The book provides an amazing perspective of a multi talented man who's interested stretch from neuroscience to social reform. It came as a surprise to the reader to find out about Horsely's role in medical insurance, the Medical Defence Union and the British Medical Association as well as his involvement in suffrage,child welfare, alcohol abuse, sexually transmitted disease etc. The book is an eye opening to a remarkable man and written with great detail and care. I recomend this to anyone interested in the history of medicine. Beautifully illustrated, highly referenced and clearly a labour of love. A memoral to an outstanding doctor and person.
