We have all made good and bad decisions on Amazon I'm sure. No amount of reviews can protect our expectations from being let down. However, this is one of the few "charger" devices I have been truly happy with.The best:This charger chargest my HTC EVO 4G LTE (2,000mAh battery) with the screen on @ 10% at a rate of 1% every 64 seconds. My HTC charger that came with the phone charges under the same situation at 1% every 60 seconds. This really is a FULL SPEED charger, and unlike the cheap $2.00 types it didn't overheat or cause my phone to heat anymore than the wall charger.This charger fits securely into the port on my car and doesn't wiggle around.The USB port and the male micro usb port have great quality control and have a secure fit (i.e. no off balanced or oddly protruding).There is no bright light shining in your face when you are driving at night (because there is no LED on this charger at all).The OK:The permanent cable is actually like most "car charger" cables that spiral after a few inches from both ends. This is nice because it keeps the cord in check if you have a small dash area in a small car. This is not quite as nice if you have to stretch the cable to the back seat or something. It will stretch out full length, but the spiral creates the typical "pull"The Bad:I couldn't find anything disappointing at all. As always, if something comes up I'll edit this review to let you know.This has certainly earned itself the top spot in the Car Charger category. If you don't have an iPhone it will work great for charging two items at once, with one at full speed. It will also make your iPhone friends happy when they join you for road trips.I hope this review helps you make your decision, and I am confident you will be happy with this purchase.

I must admit to being frustrated by getting this device to pair with ANY of my three Bluetooth enabled, portable speakers, particularly after seeing the glowing reviews by others. So frustrated, in fact, that I got a replacement from BrightTech, who was very willing to work (by e-mail) to my satisfaction. You see, I've had absolutely no issues getting my Windows laptop, iPad and Android phone to pair with these same speakers.Finally, someone (locally) showed me what I was doing wrong. It seems that the red/blue LED functions quite differently than described in the manual. It seems I was too impatient, once the BTX Ultra went into pairing mode (rapidly flashing between red & blue). After SEVERAL SECONDS in (and out of) pairing mode, followed by a couple of "beeps" from the speaker, the pairing occurred and Bluetooth transmission functioned, as expected. FYI: the paired unit displays a quick, double blue flash, roughly, every four seconds. I also learned, from BrighTech, that the unit can be "reset" by holding down the button for several seconds (not in the manual). This breaks any pairing with a previous device. Hope this helps others in getting their units to properly transmit/receive signals.

I bought this cable so my wife and I could watch a movie together on her iPad while on a flight. We tested it out before leaving home, and it worked. But when we tried it on the flight it didn't work. Wobbling the cable around caused it to make an intermittent connection (enough to hear a short snippet of sound from the movie) but I couldn't 'tweak' it enough for it to be usable.Terrible quality control for it to fail on the first real usage attempt. And note, we took good care of it - packed carefully, not smashed into some small place.

Works Great!

This device has very good sound quality. It turns itself off when no longer in use to save battery life. What's not to like?!? Three things. 1. The device only worked two months. By that time, 2. Amazon wouldn't take it back.3. The Brightech website boasts that if you have any problems, contact them and they will help. I have contacted them twice and they never responded.That's enough not to like.

This has been a great little product so far. I've used it with an iPod classic and my TV and it's worked perfectly with both. Some have talked about a small lag time but I have not noticed any lag at all while watching netflix (and that lag thing does bother me so I was watching for it). It's very tiny--about the size of a zippo and very light. Just a personal preference: it would be nice if the connecting 3.5 cord was longer so it wouldn't hang from my tv jack, but a lot of people may appreciate that it's short for other purposes. It paired easily with my headphones and quickly remembers the pairing when I turn them on. When I use it with my iPod classic and bluetooth earbuds the volume controls on my earbuds work fine, but I don't seem to be able to advance the tracks. This may be an issue with my particular wireless earbuds and/or my iPod; I'm not sure. Just thought I'd let people know if that's how you want to use it. It doesn't really make a difference to me since I use playlists and rarely need to skip tracks.

I got one of these a year ago and it was awesome from day one. Easy to connect in either send transmit or receive mode. My primary use is in my car where I connect to cable and have instant blue tooth to my phone. Got it on easy reach on front of my console with velcro. Charge it up on weekend and it lasts all week. In transmit mode the lag is virtually un-noticable. I can connect to my headphones out jack on stereo receiver and then connect my blue tooth headphones to it. This is a huge sync improvement over just connecting headphones to stereo or to something like Roku or FireTV. My worst problem??? Losing my first one while on a trip! Quickly ordered another one to replace it. I'm a techie and this is one of the top devices I've purchased recently. Can't get along without it.
