Grothe 43400 Funk-Gong-Set

Good one! This really works and it's more robust than others I looked at - I was fed up returning products from other suppliers that didn't work or do the job. I recently replaced my front door and surrounds with a composite door and double glazing. Amazingly it worked on the PVC door frame which has a metal frame under it - you shouldn't rely on yours doing the same though. As it happened I fixed it to a brick instead, as I wondered if it would manage to do the same as the battery depleted. Also it receives throughout the house (4 bed detached - 2 double, 2 single)

I first found this product offered by an alternative supplier but, after enquiringly, I discovered that it wasn't in stock. A search on Amazon found the product available from stock, £5.00 cheaper, but ooh! was it risky to order from Germany? Well delivery costs were comparable and I trust Amazon so I went for next day delivery. I ordered at 4pm, it arrived at 2pm the following day and it was fitted and working by teatime. This is a quality product. Everything about it is impressive - build quality, versatility, ease of installation, instruction manual, and ease of operation. As soon as you see the bell push outside you're impressed. My old wireless chime, which was not cheap, was not in the same league as this. I was going to go for a wired system until I spotted the Mistral. Because of the range of options available, you could operate this unit via the mains anyway but I found that this is completely unnecessary. Only reservation, it's only been installed for 3 days so I cannot comment on longevity but somehow, I have a warm feeling about this.

Brilliant used as an existing (mains powered) doorbell extension unit. My problem was that I had an existing mains (via 240V > 12V transformer) doorbell, but couldn't hear the door chime in the further reaches of the house, or in the garden. Therefore I wanted to get an extension without dismantling my existing system.This doorbell kit was easily and quickly wired into the existing setup so that the existing doorbell continues to work, but additionally triggering the Grothe wireless door chime. I used the Grothe button with the blanking plate, which is situated below my existing doorbell (it needs its own batteries), with the Chiming Unit able to be located and relocated around the house.Great range and the flashing lights an additional help for notifications.

I've had the cheap wireless doorbells with short range and other people's doorbells ringing mine. False economy.Very pleased with this. Pricey but I feel I have my money's worth. Volume is good - I can hear it throughout the house from it's central location.The range is impressive - I can even take it into my back garden to hear BBQ guests arrive at my front door.

Works really well even through solid stone walls at front and solid brick walls in the interior. Nice choice of chimes and I can take it all over the house so I can tell if someone is at the front door even if I am upstairs in the back bedroom. It was fairly easy to set up once I figured it out and easy to maintain. Well built and recommended!

It's easy to mount, has a good range, robust in nature - and you can use your own wallpaper (if you have any spare) as the pattern so the bell part matches your wall.

Yes it is expensive, but we had lots of the 15 to 20 quid ones, and they were completed pointless. This one takes bigger batteries than the bottom of the range ones, so they last longer. Definitely worth the extra

Item turned up previously used (manufacturers sticker seal was opened) and there were marks on the acrylic picture frame. Have returned item as clearly not new.
