I bought an InCharacter costume for Halloween last year, and I was so happy with it I deliberately looked for a costume by the same company this time around. I wasn't disappointed. While the dress was a little pricey, it's so much better quality than what you typically get with cheap costumes from the local party store. This dress is nicely made and well-fitted, with a decent zipper in the back. It comes with a big ruffly crinoline to wear under it, and there's a removable metal wire to turn it into a real hoop skirt. You can wear this to an adult costume party and feel classy in it... and not worry it's going to fall apart if you move wrong in it.It's also reasonably sized. I'm usually about a size 10-12, and I'm wide across the bust and shoulders, so I usually have to size up when I order clothing online. But the large size fits me perfectly. (I ordered last year's costume in the XL, and it was a bit loose on me.) As for length, it's good for tall people. I'm 5'6", and even with high heels, I'll have to be careful not to trip in it. If you're short, you might have to do some hemming or pinning around the bottom, which shouldn't be too hard.It also comes in a nice garment bag that's handy for storage, or if you have to travel with it.Be aware that the dress is shredded at the hemline (which you can see in the picture), and also has some tears in the fabric of the skirt. These are by design, to make the dress look more spooky and ghostlike. I almost wish it didn't have those, because then it could be re-purposed for other parties as a Renaissance, princess, or fairy godmother costume. (And because it's a little more expensive, it would be great to get more than one use out of it.) But if you have a little sewing skill, or know someone who does, you could probably work around that to modify the dress a little.

THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING COSTUME EVER. First of all, it looks magical. Second of all, the material is high quality. The price you pay for this costume is WELL worth it. I have never seen a "costume" of this magnitude before. I swear, I could get married in this. The costume comes in three separate pieces: the dress, the underskirt with tulle, and the two wires. The larger circumference wire feeds directly into the bottom hem of the underskirt. The smaller circumference wire feeds directly into the middle hem of the skirt. Sliding the wire through was easier than I thought. I had someone help me though. The wire for the middle hem was a bit too long, so having wire cutters on hand may be a good idea. A very easy fix though. The dress has beautiful shades of white and grey. There are deliberate tears in the fabric to add to the "ghostly" look, but in no way does that make the dress look less stunning. Truthfully, you could probably sew those if you wanted to. The dress is definitely a tripping hazard without heels (if you're 5' 4" like me), so you can either wear heels or trim the bottom of the dress. The bottom of the dress is tattered also, so trimming it wouldn't lessen the effect of the dress or affect its integrity in any way. I am absolutely thrilled to wear this for Halloween. Pictures DO NOT do this dress justice. It reminds me very much of Kiera Knightly's white gown in the first Pirates film. Size wise, it fits like a glove. I am 5' 4", 135 pounds, hour glass shape, and I ordered the medium. It fits like it was tailored specifically for me. The costume comes on a hanger in a very nice garment bag as well.

This is perfect! The fabric is only slightly thinner than I would’ve liked but still decent quality for the price paid. There is some stretch to it which was nice because I am small (5’4”) but have a fuller bust (D) so it “gave” in the right areas and a size small worked out perfectly. All the pieces promised arrived and were easily assembled but I chose to only use the top hoop insert (at the hip) and a long multi-layer petty coat under the provided petty coat (which also has tulle layers on it). This allowed for the fullness at the hips as shown in advertisement and the allusion of fullness at the bottom but still allowed me to sit, drive in a car, and move in crowds with relative easy. The fabric is soft. Seams are well sewn. Zipper is strong and full length of back (not 4”). Under black lights it glows amazingly and has a striking effect that got many compliments. I added white lace elbow gloves, necklace choker and white “Marie” wig to complete the look. Felt and looked like a complete Hollywood style costume. Well worth the money!!

I ordered the white and what I received look quite a bit more like a dark gray, but it was still well received. The quality was great, but I think the price is a little steep for what it is. I saw a somewhat similar though not as extravagant costume at Target for about 1/3 the price and probably could have gotten by with that, but I will definitely wear this again and am satisfied.

The quality of this costume is fantastic. It came in a zippered garment bag and I figured the pictured costume had a hoop skirt or something else under it, so I was planning to borrow my sister's crinoline skirt from her wedding dress. I was pleasantly surprised! The costume has a separate, voluminous crinoline skirt (lined with silk so it's not itchy!) with straps that you can pull up to rest on your shoulders (and the hanger). The details in the costume are great and it fits really well. I usually buy a large in clothes so I bought a large which I found a bit big, actually. I am wearing a corset under it so that makes a difference but I'm exchanging my large for a medium before Halloween. I can't wait to wow people this Halloween!

My gown is lovely except for the rips on the front of the skirt. I paid too much money for a dress with scissor cuts all over it. It showed up on time, but I can't wear it as it is. Sizes run to the large. I generally wear a size 6, but the medium was a bit large for me. I'm glad I have time to exchange it prior to Halloween.

I ordered this pricey dress for a Halloween costume that I was making & the item was delivered with 2 rips on the skirt. I had one day to put my outfit together & didn’t return it cuz I was planning on staining it with dried blood & messing it up a bit to look like a dead person from the renaissance era. BUT had I just used the costume as is I would definitely be a lot more upset than I was with the condition the costume came to me in & would have definitely returned it!!Overall the costume was perfect for what I was planning on creating but when you spend close to $300 you would expect it to not arrive damaged!

Great costume. Fited well. Friends were impressed. More gray/silver than white. Did not used the wire to add volume to the skirt.
