October Glory Red Maple Acer rubrum 'October glory' &October Glory; is a female cultivar that, as the cultivar name suggests, is perhaps best noted for its exceptional fall color. It grows to 40-50’ tall with an oval rounded form. Attractive red flowers appear in early spring before the foliage emerges. Flowers give way to red-tinged samaras (to 1 1/2” long). Glossy dark green leaves with red stems have 3-5 lobes and are 3-6” across. Leaves retain good green color well into fall (longer than many other A. rubrum cultivars), and in more northern areas are sometimes subjected to frost prior to acquiring fall color. Orange to red fall color for this cultivar is brilliant in most years. U. S. Plant Patent PP2116 issued in 1961. My container didn’t survive the shipping. Half of soil was out but still in the bag. The tree has good roots. I’ve replaced him in a larger pot until I’m ready to put it in the ground. Very happy with my new little tree.Update: Little over a year later... This little tree has been eaten by a dear. Ripped out of the ground by a dog, twice. The Tree now looks again like the same size it was when it arrived but healthier. Very strong little tree. After some better precautions I can't wait to see him actually get big. *Hand to forehead*

Beautiful tree now.
Beautiful tree now. Came as described a bit of dead foliage and branch. I repotted it same day as it came. Trimmed it the same day as well and now I have quite a few new sprouts that will be trimmed or turned into branches. Really looks good now thanks. If they ever come for sale on prime again I will buy again forsure.

Received the product and tips and leaves were black and dry. Not worth the time/money trying to keep it. This tree won’t make it.
