DK Egypt (Travel Guide)

I love DK Eyewitness guides and was pleased that this new edition was published in time for my holiday. As I was on an escorted trip, I didn't need it for planning purposes, but enjoyed reading the relevant information prior to each day's visit and using the history timeline. The book has been written on the basis that the new Grand Egyptian Museum is already open to visitors, but at the time of writing this review (Nov 2024) it isn't, so sights such as the Treasury of King Tutenkhamun are still in the museum in central Cairo. I did wonder why the book had hot-air balloons on the front cover - I discovered that as we drove towards the Valley of the Kings and saw several in the sky as the sun rose - a stunning sight!
