Description

This maple wood wall clock features a central area painted in a deep navy blue color. The blue color is surrounded by a border of natural maple wood. The numbers on the clock are engraved into the maple wood after it is painted. This exposes the natural maple color that contrasts beautifully with the deep blue of the paint. After painting, the face of the clock receives a final coat of clear matte lacquer. This eliminates reflections and ties the design together. The Futura Bold font is used for the numbers. This font was released in 1927 and is designed using the geometric forms from the Bauhaus movement. The clock is cut from locally harvested solid maple hardwood about 3/4 inch thick. No composites or plywood are used in the construction. The back of the clock has a keyhole slot that allows it to hang flush against the wall. The clock movement is an American made Takane movement that is rated as accurate to 2 seconds per year. The clock requires one AA battery that is not included.
