Turn those photos into something very special!
I already had Magix Photostory on CD & DVD 9 and was invited to buy an upgrade to version 10 direct from Magix but the price was prohibitive. And then I found it on Amazon for 45% of the offered cost and I couldn't refuse. This program loads well, has an attractive and interesting user interface and performs brilliantly. I have to say, it's not that user friendly but if you take time to explore, you will find that a series of say a hundred 'off the cuff' photos can be turned into a great DVD presentation of visual and musical interest. The great thing about this program is that there is so much to explore and try out, that each subsequent presentation seems different and better from the last. I took some 150 photos recently, picked the best 100, ran them through a simple photo editing program ( cropping, brightening, sharpening and adding increased colour ) and then loaded them into this Magix program, chose a style ( still experimenting at this stage ) and burnt it to DVD. This program does it all. That DVD has gone around all of my work colleagues and I have been amazed how they all felt how professional the audio and visual display turned out. Photograph can be nothing more that flat, often dreary, two dimensional things, can't they. But add effects, music onto the Magix slideshow and you have something truly worth watching. And with the cost of blank DVD's really low, you can create things at low cost for anyone ... great gifts too. Professional hard copy photo albums are of course a treasure but oh so expensive. With this program and anyone's DVD player, you can produce different but better photo presentations for a fraction of the cost. I just cannot wait to make more. In conclusion, take time out to learn and appreciate this program and you will have software that will thrill you with the results ... and just about everyone else too. Even if like me you are just an amateur photographer!

Same old faults
This new version has the same old faults as version 7 By that I mean if you change anything such as a differnt fade in between one photo and another somthing els will change further back along the story board that you have done such as if you choose a new fade if you have used the zoom on another picture the zoom will get cancelled out further back on the story board. It's most anoying. Before you print or burn your slideshow you must CHECK, CHECK and CHECK again.Hardly anything has changed from version 7 only the 3D titles which you can't alter the colours so you are stuck with them. Also when printing the the finished slide show it is better to print it to your hard drive and keep a copy on a memory stick rather than burning it on to a DVD. On a DVD the pictures loose their sharpnes and become a little blured. All in all I prefer version 7 to this one as it is easyer to use and the picture quality on a DVD is much better.

Not as good as my old XP version!
Bought this as l have just upgraded to Win 7 and my old Photos on CD & DVD only went to Win XP - the old version was much better it had more to it 2 x CDs 1 for the programme, 1 for Audio & Content Archive also had a lot more burn option menu's.CD & DVD 10 (PC) has only one CD with limited amount of extra material, they give you link to a web site & guess what you can buy extra content!! So have to say it's OK but not as good as the XP version!

Magix PhotoStory 10
Great programme, if you can ever fatham out how to work it. Searching for instructions is a nightmare. If and when you ever find any, they tell you how wonderful this programme is and what it can do, but not how to do it. A more in depth instruction booklet or PDF file would really upgrade this programme to be the leader in Slide Show media. So many complaints about it on Magix own forum, which is not good. With decent instructions I would recommend it but until they get their act together, go for another programme with understandable instructions.

Does it add value
Maybe it's just that I haven't spent enough time with this product, but it doesn't really seem to do anything that the Windows Media software or something like PowerPoint can't already do. I bought it for a specific purpose, to support a presentation on underwater photography to a local photographic society but ended up abandoning it in favour of just using PowerPoint.I can't say there's anything wrong with it, just that I don't see the point.

Magix Man,
I have had most of the magic materials they provide. Easy to use, no problems with this latest edition. It appears to load quicker which is a blessing. But the results I get are fine. I have noted that a few of the 'extras' are missing but I have not investigatedfurther on that matter, Perhaps that is why it loads particularly quicker. Certainly worthy of a four.Tony M.

good product gone backwards
had version 3 before, which was great, but find version 10 more complicated to use, i know these things have to move forward, but the changes, for me, were unnecessary, only bought version 10 because version 3 would not go on windows 7
