Ice Cream Scoop, Crimson

This is hands down the best ice cream scoop I've used. It's nice and weighty and does the job well. No fancy bells and whistles but works well and looks nice.

I like the look of this scoop (which is honesly the whole reason I bought it). It functions realitively well too. It is a very heavy and thick ice cream scoop, which I think is a good thing for people like me who like to dip up your icecream while is still rock hard. You can bet that you will never bend this spoon.

This ice cream scoop is very awkward to use. I tried to use it and after struggling for several minutes, unable to get the scoop to grip into the ice cream, I gave up and used a dinner fork instead. The fork worked fairly well. I bought this because I was looking for a replacement for the best ice cream scoop ever, which is just like this Wilton ice cream scoop, but is dishwasher-safe (http://www.amazon.com/Wilton-2104-0681-Ice-Cream-Scoop/dp/B0051H232K). Sadly, this ice cream scoop is nothing like the awesome cut-through-rock-hard-ice-cream scoop that Wilton makes. While it is dishwasher safe, why clean something that you don't even want to use?As other reviewers noted, the box it comes in is very fancy looking. The handle is somewhat uncomfortable and doesn't benefit in any way from the colored plastic that makes up half of it and leaves rough edges where there need not be any. This is another point where the Wilton scoop comes out ahead: the Wilton scoop has a soft rubber on the back of the handle, where this scoop uses a hard plastic. The hard plastic feels cheep and ill-fitted to the scoop, whereas the rubber seems to greatly improve the grip and the comfort on the Wilton scoop.I've been using the Wilton scoop for many years, and I love it so much I would like to buy 6 more so that I have one for every day of the week. When I bought it they were made out of stainless steel and were dishwasher safe, neither of which is the case any more.

This scoop is made very well just wish it was smaller. Way to big for just using at home.Would be great for a ice cream shop.

We haven't had an ice cream scooper for a long time. I came across this one and was immediately attracted to it. I'm glad I got it. The family loves it. It's actually on the heavy side, but that's totally cool...as it's very sturdy and I'm not afraid of it tackling harder ice cream tubs. And it's also a very good looking scooper ;-)

The Savora Ice Cream Scoop is just beautiful. I love the sleek design and the hefty handle. It certainly will not bend when dealing with frozen solid ice cream. The packaging was amazing. It came in a black box sealed with Velcro and sitting in its own molded nest.I give it five stars for beauty but only three stars for functionality. But then it is after all and ice cream scoop. The next question is... does it scoop? Yes, it does with a bit of muscle. I think the basic design makes it almost cumbersome to work effectively as a scoop. I was able to get nice looking servings for a bowl of ice cream but found it difficult to make a cone.

I just got this last week, and have to say I'm impressed. It's heavy for its size, and both my husband (who has tendonitis in his wrist) and I can use it easily without any trouble. I tried it on some pretty hard ice cream last night, and it breezed right through it. I'll be hand washing this for sure so it lasts as long as possible, but I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.

Purple color is super dark. It does not match the amazon photo or the product photo on the box.
