Essential reading for all women
Actually, not just for all women but for all. Particularly those in the medical profession who seem to think this is a topic to be bypassed. This book is clear, concise and personable. It gives a good grounding that can be followed up by going to factsheets on Newson's websites and the Balance App.Most importantly, it knocks down a number of myths - about age of menopause, safety of treatments and what is available (or should be) on the NHS.Recommended to all women everywhere.

So informative and accessible!
Absolutely brilliant book! There's so much I never knew I needed to know! I would recommend to any woman approaching the menopause/peri-menopause years. Its really easy to read and because I found I could relate to so much of what was being discussed, it completely held my attention all the way through.

Brilliant and informative read
Brilliant and informative read for women of all ages, Dr Louise’s Podcasts, books and balance app to monitor symptoms, have really helped me on my menopause journey and being able to talk to Medical Professionals in an informed way and finally getting the right treatment for me after suffering for more than 10 years, it has now been identified the initial diagnosis of chronic migraine was the first sign of the perimenopause for me.My treatment plan now is designed not only for my current symptoms but as a preventative for potential future issues that come with growing older. Please don’t suffer in silence, and talk to your GP and keep going back, eventually you will find an understanding one.

A must read for everyone of all ages
Very informative and not a heavy read- just right. Easy to dip into bits you want to know and skip ones you don’t need for now. Dr Newson’s work and books are changing lives, my life included. A must read if you’re a female and have unexplained symptoms. This is book is the friend that will tell you all you need to know.

Informative
Overall this book is quite informative. It's factual and no nonsense but does feel a bit self promoting after a few chapters. I was also really disappointed to find that there was no mention of menopause and hypothyroidism. Despite hypothyroidism being prevalent in middle aged women.

Life-changing
Who would not want another chance in their lives when the perimenopause, i.e. when the complex female hormonal (oestrogen and testosterone) deficiency approaches? Who would not want this chance for their mum, sister, daugther, friend or colleague? The troublesome symtpoms which could involve all organs could be threatening the lives of some women, while others could remain severly disabled, finishing their working careers and unable to care for their family...The women in my family did not have an opportunity to take Hormonal Replacement Therapy back then; though they were full of dreams for a long life... I was determined to make a change, being able to see my grandchildren born and grow up; and since my children have grown to teenage years, to fulfill the career I have always dreamt of.In this book you will be able to find relevant information about all aspects of perimenopause / menopause / postmenopause. Wholeheartedly recommended to everyone; whether male or female , young or old, regardless of their profession or ethnic background.Spread the news and stay connected to that secret network of women which brings births and changes into the world! Since you might be a woman yourself, or you might be the child, sibling, parent or colleague of one; remember, it is time to collaborate!

A must-read for every woman over 35 (and their doctors)
Absolute essential read for all women and men, for that matter. Simple facts supported by studies and a really helpful holistic approach to perimenopause and menopause. If you only buy one book on the subject- let this one be it.

Book has been wet at some point
As for the content of the book I cannot say. It has been wet at some point and pages and cover are warped.

Pushing HRT way too much
I hoped this book would be different from pill pushing doctors and other books on Menopause promoting HRT. It’s not. It encourages HRT and the even suggests use of cancer causing sunscreen to block the sun. Ignorant. Typical mainstream doctor mindset. Sad that so many women are talked into synthetic hormones and products that do more harm than good. Information in the book is nothing new and used as “fluff” to support HRT. Small and vague section on diet, which is what should be one of the top chapters in the book. This book is not worth the money. The listing is misleading. At least let people know the book is pro HRT with nothing mentioned about alternative therapy for those who do not want to take synthetic hormones.
