Waterdrop BS10 Sight Glass Spigot, Clear View Water Level

I bought the Waterdrop BS10 Sight Glass Spigot to replace the standard faucet on my gravity water filter, and it has been an absolute game-changer. I first installed this with one of the washers from my old Berkey sight spout on the inside because this spout does not have a washer for the inside. It leaked like a sieve. I took off the inner washer and installed per instructions, and I have NO leaks. This sight spout is so much better than the old one I had (the shorter one in the foreground of my photo). It is very sturdy and works wonderfully with my Big Berkey on its stand. I installed it so that pulling forward on the spigot does not lock; pushing back on it locks. It's working out great, and the little red level ball is so helpful. Now I just have to figure out where the ball needs to fall to before adding in another full pitcher of water. I need to be able to tell everyone in the household "when the ball falls to here, add in a pitcher of water at the top." Otherwise, we'll have constant overflow messes....

2 years ago I bought a Berkey system for each of my grown children for Christmas. When I ordered the system I also ordered the sight glass from the same supplier. Upon installation BOTH of the sight glasses leaked. $100 down the drain because too much time had elapsed since the purchase for refund or replacement (I’m an early Christmas shopper). After researching reviews I decided on this product for my own Berkey. It came in perfect condition, was easy to install and worked like a charm. I also love that the speed of the water being dispensed is twice what it was when I was using the original Berkey stainless steel spigot. I love mine so much that I have already purchased one for each of my kids’ Berkeys.

Works good

This sightglass and spigot are heavy gauge metal with a thick chrome(like) plating. I expect it to hold up well. The O-ring it comes with is a bit lacking, but the better OEM ones from my filter fit just fine. The sightglass tube stands 11” above center bore. A solid two inches too tall for my AlexaPure. I kept it because the ball does make it easier to read the waterline, but not as well as if the ball were a better color. Also, the window in the sightglass is too narrow making it difficult to read unless you both stand at just the right angle and have excellent lighting. It is, however, better than guessing.

Very well made, came fully assembled just had to bolt onto my Berkey. Only came with one Teflon washer to use on the outside, but have not seen any leaks after several hours. Really nice being able to see how much water is in the filtered lower unit without lifting the top unit. Faucet has two positions; one locks open giving continuous flow without holding lever, flip side is spring loaded and has to be held open.

I replaced my old spigot with this new one just a month ago. I’m happy it was very easy to install, the water flows and fills nicely as well. It’s now easy to know how full or empty your Berky is.
