I asked several retailers that sell propane gas if they would fill my small propane canisters. They said they could not and these canisters were disposable and should be thrown away. I asked, then why do they make adapters? Where can I get a refill? They said, "at the manufacturer". I said nonsense. I went online and watched a couple of videos as to how to fill the small propane canister, then purchased the Universal Propane Refill Adapter and a 20 lb. propane tank and had it filled. I then inserted the adapter to the 20 lb. tank and proceeded to refill my canisters following the instructions. I proceeded to use the small propane canisters on my previously purchased Mini Dragon Propane Torch Kit to weed my flower beds. It works great and for pennies on the dollar. It's great when you ideas and plans come together.

Works well enough for me and my Scout troop. We did find that you have to find the "sweet spot" between being tightened too much and not enough. Either way it won't work. Also, to be efficient, you really have to start out with a full (or at least mostly full) 20 lb propane tank. With those points in mind, you can get a 1 lb canister about 3/4 full in 10 minutes (be patient). In our initial impatience, we tried using needle-nose pliers to pull up on the valve stem to release air to make room for gas, and the result was a perpetually leaking value. Not good, and cause for throwing the canister away.

I have a 2 burner Harbor Freight stove that uses a 20lb propane bottle. This fitting will allow me to use a 1lb bottle.

Love it. Works perfectly.

It fits, but will not allow the propane tanks to even be filled halfway. I get about twenty five to thirty percent full before it stops filling. Not a good deal.
