Great price and one of the SAFEST box cutting style knives you will ever use.
SAFETY ! That's what I look for when using this type of knife. One thing the vendor fails to mention in the item description is that the knife blade slides back into the metal housing when you take your thumb of of the red slide mechanism making this knife VERY safe to use. Best box knife I have ever used !

Great simple knife. Only problem is that co workers always ask to borrow itSquirt a little gun oil for silky smooth operation

It does the job, but so do cheaper models
Self-retracting describes this box cutter best, it's as safe as you can possibly wish for in a cutting tool.Likewise you would surely wish for something cheaper while still being up to the task, and options abound.

Good knife for the price, but not perfect.
You would be hard pressed to find a self retracting knife for this price with extra blades included. The outer shell is plastic, but i regularly drop mine on to a concrete floor as I work, and it has not shown any cracks, or damage. The blades seem to hold up fairly well, and last quite a long time (I think I've had to change mine 2 times in a month of constant use). The downside comes when switching the blades. You have to unscrew the case, and the way the spring is mounted in the inside, you have to be very careful when replacing your blade or the knife will stop self retracting. My first blade swap I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the knife to work properly again. I eventually reopened the case and noticed the spring was getting caught on a piece of plastic on the inside. Not a big issue once you are used to it.If you're purchasing the knife for safety reasons, one thing to be careful of is the switch to pull the blade out. Most safety blades have the switches depressed, but this one does not, and the switch is mounted on the back of the knife. I actually prefer this because it makes using the knife easier and safer when actually cutting. The problem is that if you store the knife in a tight pocket, the blade will push up because the switch is not depressed. Again not a big issue once you are used to it.If you only use knives every once in awhile in your home you may want to consider a cheaper option. If you use knives regularly for a job, hobbies, etc this knife will work very well, and is a step above the cheap knives you would find in a regular store's aisles. If the issues I stated above are a deal breaker, I would recommend a more expensive knife. As it stands this knife is a good value with only a few issues making it not 100% perfect.

Not so great, if you use a knife for work.
I use a safety knife all day, every day. Ordered this knife based strictly on reviews. When I unboxed it, it was gritty on the trigger, but after using it for a shift, it loosened up. After 50 hours of work, I had to change the blade. Once I opened it up, the internal mechanism failed. You get what you pay for. Maybe go with another brand if you use a knife for work.

Great performing tool and safe too!
Great tool. Very easy to use and with a self retracting blade so my grandchildren can’t get hurt if they find it in the drawer.

I love this razor box cutter and can rest assured that ...
I love this razor box cutter and can rest assured that the blade is never exposed unless my thumb is on the blade button. With pets and/or kids I wouldn’t feel comfortable with a non-retractable razor.
